Positive (And Negative) Thinking

Often the term "Positive Thinking" has something of a negative connotation: Sometimes it's used to describe people that are deluding themselves and are out of touch with "reality."

However true Positive Thinking, in my opinion, is an amazing thing: It can make you happier, healthier, help you overcome failure, and generally make you a more inspiring and charismatic person to be around. In fact it's been proven that 90% of what we worry about never happens and so, many times, Positive Thinking is actually more realistic than Negative Thinking.

Negative Thinking is something that many people experience. In his wonderful book "The Success Principles" Jack Canfield explains the various Automatic Negative Thoughts (or ANTs for short) that people process. And they are:

1. Always-Or-Never Thinking
This is when you use all-or-nothing words such as: "I will never be a successful Entrepreneur." And "I always fail." Reality isn't as black and white as that. If you catch yourself thinking like this, replace your thoughts with what is really true. Such as "Sometimes I fail, however, I know I can be successful."

2. Focusing On The Negative
This is when although there are positives to taken from a situation, you only focus on what is negative. Many people do this habitually. A good exercise for balancing this type of thinking out is to take 7 minutes every morning to write down all of the things you appreciate in your life. And to consciously look for the positive aspects of any given situation.

3. Guilt-Tripping
This is when you use words such as: "Should," "must," "ought to," or "have to." Guilt is never productive and it may hold you back from being a successful Entrepreneur. If you find yourself thinking like this, replace your thinking with empowering words such as: "It's in my best interest to …" and "It would support my goals to …"

4. Labelling
This is when you attach a negative label to yourself or others. Such as "I am a failure." In reality, we all fail sometimes and just because something didn't work out, that doesn't mean that you yourself are a "failure." Challenge the thought we something like: "Although I failed, I learned something from the experience and I know I can succeed next time."

Make the decision today to be a more Positive Thinker. Because it will help you become a more successful Entrepreneur. You will see the opportunity in every adversity, and you will attract everything you need.

  • This is a very good perspective, that positive thinking is actually more realistic than negative thinking.

Negative thinking becomes a self fulfilling prophesy, because reality follows thought. It then slows down the vibration. The vibration of our world is very slow, so everyone believes this is what 'reality' is. However this is not the truth. You can learn to raise your vibration also and your reality will be nothing but miraculous!

    • This is a nice way to think Odahh, you should always do what you are comfortable with. Remain always in balance and in your well being! No problem with that.

However when you start doing LOA a lot like I have for 25 years or so, you realize that everything is nothing but vibration. You can make your vibration as high as you want to go. And it is true, your reality can be nothing but miraculous! I feel that way every day, all the time! I feel joyous! I feel upbeat! Only because of how I have trained my energy or vibration!

And it influences other people also. Did you read my WF post "LOA Miracle On Warrior Forum"

I believe as we progress into the future, more and more and more people will be having this type of experience as their everyday reality! There is nothing extraordinary about this. This is just the way all of humanity are supposed to live! We are all just remembering how. If anything is extraordinary and miraculous it is everyday reality that is supposed to be extraordinary and miraculous once we learn how to think or hold the right vibration. That's not hard to do. Just a little shift in our focus

  • Being totally positive isn't a bad thing in my opinion. People will assume the karma argument and think that being positive all the time will eventually bring misery into your life. But failure (towards success) is the yang to your yin. Something a lot of people don't realise.

I feel bad when I fail, but through that pain I realise I've opened up more things to myself and continue with a positive attitude thereafter and learn to embrace my pain for what it is, personal growth.

    • One thing I've noticed whenever I go through a challenge, I usually get frustrated in the moment, but once I overcome the challenge I'm grateful for the opportunity to go through it and overcome it.

So, I agree with you when you say that pain can be a good thing in the long run even though it is hard for us to see it in the moment when we actually experiencing it.

Pain and failure makes a stronger and allows us to overcome more difficult challenges in the future.

  • Focusing on "not being negative" or "avoiding negative situations" is equally negative to the 4 points you stated.

We bring in to our lives what we put focus towards.
    -- Replace "lives" with "minds"

our lives are what our minds see it as. So if we focus on avoiding something,,, we will find ourselves spending more time avoiding these things.
.. (So be careful what you focus on)

Being conscious of their "Negative Thinking" is the whole point. And, they only have to focus on it until they "re-program" their thinking. (That's a good/positive thing.)
