Is building a store app a good market to get into like for drop shipping or building a app for affiliate products?

It can be done, but doing this with an app takes a different approach than building a website store or affiliate site. Apps have to have a value to the user for them to decide to download, open and not delete from the phone. What value can you offer to a user for them to download and keep the app? That is where you have to be creative.

So an example for an affiliate type app would be something like this.

Find a product you can offer value for. Say a Nikon CoolPix L830 (a current best seller digital camera). Build an app around that product. Tips, hints, user guide, Facebook Page. Promote it as the ultimate app for owners of this product. Have a tab (page) in the app, which has affiliate links to accessories for this product. Things like cases, chargers, batteries et al. You can also monetize with AdMob and other ad networks.

I have had some success with product specific type apps for popular products. These types of apps get good downloads and the users tend to keep them on their phones for long periods of time.

Get creative and you can have some success.

well building app is a good market, but you have to be careful on the product you choose to build affiliate market on, because choosing the wrong product can be a waste of time because people will not keep your application for a long time

Well do people actually search for physical products like the camera you mentioned in the app stores?

I feel it would be be better good to build your own app both for iphone and android rather than going for an affiliate one. Also, the app should be very useful in it's own way unique in design, and brings value for the consumers to stick to it instead of uninstalling it after first use.
