You can promote your App by optimizing the description of the App, Press Release writing/distribution, Social Media Promotion, Reviews, Mobile Ads..

Well, you need to decide your goals first.

What do you want to achieve? You want as many installs as you can, or you're more focused on the lifetime value of the user.

Are you willing to wait for SEO/ASO to take place and actually delivers app installs, or you want installs now and you're prepared to pay for it.

You can just surf the web and find a lot of useful articles about app promotion. First of all your app must be unique and really cool, than you don't need any promotion.

I would say YouTube as well.

Find a few relevant keywords and make videos of your app and link back to your app listing.

There is some really great feedback on this thread. I would recommend to also ensure you have a channel in place to communicate with users frequently and pay extra attention to any feedback active users have, particularly areas they feel might need improvement.
