Do people really buy from their phones or just browse and click stuff? It seems to me that mobile marketing would be more useful for a site with Adsense than an actual product page. Any opinions?

I would definitely agree! I had a company selling cosmetics online, and about 80% of my sales came from users on mobile devices! I thought this was odd initially, especially because people tend to be nervous about sharing their credit information over mobile, but apparently that's not true at all! | |

I would only imagine if you get a bunch load of people to go to your product. For me mobile hasn't really converted.

It depends on how you set up the checkout page. For example, an app-game can connect through paypal/card in the background and each time the customer buys something , he can do this with just one tap (click). But if he needs to type information then the game it's over. Make him purchase with one tap, if possible, and your conversion rate will rise |

Even I too accept that mobile traffic will lead to sales.. That is the why google made mandatory for advertisers to send their Ad to mobiles as-well.

Conversion rate from Mobile traffic is usually high as compare to Desktop / PC user. But it is simultaneously important to do SEO for mobile versions of websites. Responsive design of online store is more effective but jquery mobile oriented designs does not work nice. Where pages load using Ajax.

No, responsive is bad - trust me... ![]() You need a mobile-first approach and you need to think like your customers and streamline and optimize the mobile sales funnel. This means presenting him a nice and clean layout, big pictures, an easy to browse checkout process and obviously a seamless integration with immediate payment processors (such as Paypal or, even better, Stripe) Once you have that you can do TON of business on mobile - I've got customers that use my system and that sell and sell and sell food, clothes, tickets and much more on mobile. Mobile in-app (different from mobile web) is better for converting traffic into app installs. If you are talking about people shopping through their mobile phones by clicking banner ads, NOPE.

Mobile traffic does convert to sales but to achieve this goal you should have a mobile-friendly website and really simple checkout page.

I am in the process of updating all of my website so that they are mobile friendly. I know that I am late in doing this but when I realize from my FB ads that most traffic are coming from mobile sources, then why swim against the current? -Ray Edwards |

Ray, you are not late - and the important thing is that you do it right. Remember that the mobile user is a totally different "beast" from the desktop one (even if they are the same person), so act accordingly! |
