Best Mobile Wordpress Plugin?

Hey everyone,

I am looking for an alternative for WP Touch Pro. The main reason is because it is pricey... Looking at $200 for the developer package.

If you guys have any suggestions for another plugin which is similar or possibly better, please let me know...

Thanks in advance :)

I've been working with WordPress for a while now. Unfortunately there is little options when it comes to rendering a different display for mobile viewers.

What I would do is set up a subdomain (like mobile.yourdomain.com) and place a mobile-friendly wordpress theme there. Customize the theme to your liking. Then in a few lines of PHP code you can redirect people to the mobile site depending on screen resolution, device, etc.

I use WP-Mobile-Detector, which works OK. But only on some sites - I think the need for a mobile version of your site is lessening all the time as tablets grow in popularity.

Cheers,

Martin.

curious - what would you consider to be a good price? baring in mind you would get continued support? would you expect to pay less for limited support? ie 6 months

being on the other side of the business ie a developer am always curious at the sweet spot selling price customers will buy a script and their actual expectations of a script and support...

I have been looking at wpmobilepro.com for creating mobile sites. It may be what you are looking for.

It can create simple sites really quickly that look good.

Thanks
Jason

I've checked that out before but it seems VERY expensive for what it is.

I'm going to have to disagree with that. Tablets are great but not nearly as convenient to carry as a phone and smart phone adoption is growing at a much faster clip than tablets.

If anything there will be an even greater need for mobile sites.

Here's a couple to look at:

WordPress › Wapple Architect Mobile Plugin for WordPress « WordPress Plugins

But if you're prepared to pay a little ($49), this one is beautiful:
