Using SMS for appointment reminders?
Share on:
fb share twitter share gplus share more share

I just came back from a networking meeting and was talking to a chiropractor who wants to use text messaging to remind customers of their appointments.

What's the best service to handle this and how much do you think I would charge. She figures she'd send out 30 texts per week.

Thanks.

Mike

I'm investigating the same application. There are some programs specifically designed for appointment reminders and some even have built in options for follow-up (call the Dr if bleeding persists, or remember to get the Rx filled right away). These are much more user friendly than most SMS packages that can be set up for appointment reminders but are not designed for it. When I can narrow it down to 1 or 2 best choices and have the prices in hand I'll be happy to share it with you.

That's exactly what she needs. I see you have a white label offer. I'll sign up and check out your pricing.

Check out Trumpia - they also have a private labeling option which allows you to brand their service as your company.

Trumpia isn't good with their Appointment reminder, I've tried a lot because I'm dealing with clients that need appointment reminder and by far the most complete is lime cellular's one.

Ok. I may have found the right SMS supplier. But how would you charge for your SMS Appointment Reminder service? There won't be a whole lot of texts going out (this particular chiropractor said she sends out about 30 reminders per week). So I would think I'd have to charge a certain amount per month. Maybe even make it include unlimited appiontments if the monthly charge is high enough.

For those of you already providing this, I'd love some insite.

Mike

I charge a high price for appointment reminder with some decent amount of text but not too much, because your not setting your price about how much message but how much you can value the software and what it get to the clients using it. In most example, they get less missed appointment and it's much more faster than calling everyone on their list.

I've been looking into appointment reminders and white label options myself lately too. I'm going to check out a demo of avid to see how ti looks.

Before you decide on anything, Check into Chad Wyatt's WSO wordpress reminder plugin. Uses Twilio which is really cheap on your end. What I like best is that it sends out a text, a phone call, AND and email to the recipient. Charge them $29 per month for everything and you'll make a huge profit margin.

well, first of all, it takes so much time to create an appointment for an individual. ie you have to enter their phone number, name last name, choose a txt template etc, which will take minimum 2-3 minutes to do. So instead, they could just give them a call which will take 1.5 minute overall.

So I am not sure how effective sms appointment reminders are.

p.s. I was referring to the limewire video/program.

Well appointment manager is huge, yes it may take time to set up it but that's ok for couple reasons.

1)First if you send a text 2 hrs before the appointment customer will see the text and remember there appointment instead of calling a day before, they may forget

2)If they call and customer and do not get a hold of them, they may call 3 or 4 times before they get a response so in fact the receptionist may spend 10 actual mins calling and playing phone tag with the client

3)also you can set appointments for the whole month and also customers can easily confirm, reshecudle with the options by texting in

4)Also you can tell the doctor dentist massage therpaist tanning salon who ever has regular customers that this will be all free and you will make more money than you can imagine. This how it will be free for them even if you charge $500 dollars a month for this.

If they have a list of 500 people with cell numbers what you can tell them is i can send a message to all your clients with a special offer from another business lets say a jewelry store. Ok its Christmas time and the jewelry store down the road is offering all of these people 40% off on all jewelry store for that month. With there appointment manager you can send mobile coupons with redemption codes so you can see how many people took up that offer, and what you would do is make a spilt 3 ways for the profit. So if the jewelery store did an extra $15,000. So lets say you sent a text to 500 people on the list and 15% took the offer at an average ticket of $200.00 X 75 = $15,000. So if we did a three way split of 15,000 me, jewerly store, doctor would get $5,000 each. Why wouldnt you want to build a list and make extra money for doing nothing.

Its all about making easier and getting more work done and being productive in an automated system

I ended up signing up with Lime Cellular because of their robust SMS system, fast sales support, and quick white label setup.

Now for a personal story, I was at a networking meeting the other night and sparked up a conversation with one of the new members. He was an attorney and after talking about our businesses, he said that his wife owns a hair salon and hates making appointment reminder phone calls so he was very interested in this service. I have an appointment set up for the first week of January.

Then, this morning, the same guy emails me saying that he's interested in the appointment reminder service for his business and I have an appointment with him next week.

So there's definitely a demand for this type of service and since Lime Cellular also includes other text message marketing features (coupons, polls, contests, etc.) it looked like the best platform to use.
