Ammy, A quick search on the big G provided this link Seven Mobile SEO Myths Exposed. It is not a tutorial but it gives you some theory about different myths of mobile seo. |

I just hope sometime soon that Google starts recognizing mobile friendly content for smartphones and not just non-smartphones! For me if your mobile site doesn't validate to mobile standards, as I keep saying, you are far better off trying to either optimize your main site - it will still rank in both Google search for non smart phones, smartphones and desktop. A good mobile redirection script will handle driving your mobile traffic to the right content. You can as other warriors have mentioned try ranking your mobile content. However, I feel you are on a up hill battle as mobile sites are generally a lot more lightweight and have less content which in theory equals less value than a regular desktop page would have that typically has a lot more relevant content... that's not to say don't try! The use of meta keywords that some recent WSO's have revealed as something you should use - I personally think are a waste of time, just as they are right now for regular current SEO practices. In addition because of the non relevancy in SEO all it does is give your phone more useless data to download. As for validation, if you want to reach the broadest range of mobile devices you have to validate your mobile content! I saw recently a warrior saying that nothing can get 100% validation... that's complete nonsense! We are using WordPress for our mobile sites and repeatedly are able to maintain 100% validation as well as keep an average +90%. Speed, page size, etc is not an issue and does not come in to it if you know what you are doing as a developer, so i will debunk the myth right now that WordPress is not suitable for mobile. The validation score will show you just how much effort has been put into it to make it mobile friendly. However all WordPress mobile solutions are NOT the same! I get asked all the time about validation and why is it important? Well we look to accommodate ALL mobile devices both smartphones, feature phones and even non feature phones... and well just because we can and to debunk the myth that it cant be done and since we have made the process automated it doesn't take any more additional time to do it! ![]() In all honesty I think SEO as we know it is dying or if not dead already in favor of Google's paid inclusion... for this reason we go for streamlined/optimized mobile PPC. As for affiliates marketing on mobile - it is out there but again I think it is not half as effective as most people want you to believe, you can't go blindly in to it, you have to do your proper research - do the affiliates that you are pushing also have a mobile site and mobile checkout? If not your efforts will be a waste of time... the only thing that will rocket is your bounce rate! Always put yourself in the shoes of a mobile user - are you really likely to sign up for a clickbank product that you have to download to your phone? Possibly? But not as likely as you are to call a plumber or order some flowers on your phone! Am totally amazed with all these mobile related WSO's flying around the lack of concern for validation or at least the non disclosure of it's relevancy, the incorrect information being taught about mobile seo which plays in to the hands of the article sourced by @Michael Travis in post two of this thread, and yet not even a single mention of affiliate pay per call which works hand in hand with mobile! I really do hope we see more quality mobile WSO's that really help people with mobile instead of just what appears to be nothing more than an up-sell fest for sub standard products and attempt to build a new list to spam... times are hard for a lot of people right now, they have families to feed and roofs to keep over there heads and am sick of seeing people jumping on the mobile bandwagon taking advantage of fellow warriors that don't know any better especially in this niche that I am particularly passionate about! | |

I don`t think any of us can predict how "mobile seo" will evolve in the near future. When you look at local searches, gps location, googles new + features with social circles etc. Search results will pull data from all of your social media profiles, your interests (food) (sports), shopping history, your current location, your health, well you get the picture. Pretty scary stuff actually. |

Seriously, register your site on the list I posted above. I've done it for four sites now (well my VA has) and their traffic has increased 100% - 500% within a week! Also, if anyone else can find some mobile directories not mentioned above, please post here and we can maintain a list for the community. |
