Software to Make Apps Hello, I've been noticing how many brick and mortar business have started using apps. Consequently, selling apps to these business seems like great niche, however I don't want to work with a freelancer. So my questions to you guys is do you know any decent software to make your own apps? |
Re: Software to Make Apps If you know how to code then check out Titanium Studio....its Free and Open Source. |
Re: Software to Make Apps Hey... I noticed that there were no good answers here so I will help you out. I have used over a dozen app makers. The best by far is AppMakr. AppMakr.com. Here is a list of the top few app makers I know work as alternatives for you with a short description. Create Android App | Make Your Own Android Apps | Android App Maker | AppsGeyser AppsGeyser is the web platform that allows you to convert any web content to an Android App. With AppsGeyser you can convert any web content or widget into an App in 2 simple steps. Andromo – Free www.andromo.com Andromo is the App Maker for Everyone!™ In as little as five minutes, you can make an Android app to promote your business or launch your million-dollar idea. Andromo will turn it into a professional app that runs on millions of Android smartphones and tablets. And the best part is that it's free... Conduit Mobile - Free Create Mobile Apps | Conduit Mobile Conduit Mobile enables content providers and developers to create an app once and distribute it on all leading platforms, without any developing or coding skills. That means developers and companies can use PhoneGap for mobile applications that are free, commercial, open source, or any combination of these. AppsBar - Free appsbar - iPhone App Builder, Android App Builder, Windows App Builder Appsbar was introduced in 2011 as the first cost-free way for anyone, at any skill level and with a limited budget, to make rich, personalized apps that reflect their own personality, business or event with direct access to app stores. Appsbar meets the demand for a turn-key solution for creating and publishing apps, while eliminating the common hassles faced by even experienced app developers, including how to develop for multiple devices and platforms, how to beat long- wait periods for publication, and how to stop rejections from app stores. MobileRoadie – Paid Mobile Roadie - iPhone and Android Apps for Everyone Creating your own app using MoRo takes only a few minutes and costs pretty much nothing compared to making your own from scratch. Let me know specifically what you want to do and I will provide you some more targeted resources. |

Thanks for the great reply, this is exactly what I was looking for. Have you used any of these softwares? |
Re: Software to Make Apps Great post, thanks for listing all of those sources. My question is: how can a local business use an app? What are some good ideas for apps that would work for selling to offline businesses? |
Re: Software to Make Apps Quote:
Around here ( daytona ) there is a growing trend, of places using them for reservations and appointments. I actually just saw a super cuts commercial plugging an appointment app. |
Re: Software to Make Apps I had a quick play around with app geyser about a month or so ago. I created an app out of a mobile website within about 5 minutes and downloaded it on to my Android phone and it worked perfectly. It's free to use but I believe once you get a certain number of downloads (I think the lady said about 50) they then start charging you. I guess this is good because you will only be paying when/if the app becomes successful. |
Re: Software to Make Apps I have used all of them extensively for the past year and about 25 more different app builders. I may launch a WSO course explaining how to use my favorite app builders and how to profit in the app stores. It depends if I have a good experience on the Forum. So far it has been OK. Please try one of these app builders out and let me know if you would like to see a WSO about how to use them and make money. I may let you try my course for FREE if you give me an honest review. Of course, this is all depending on if I decide to actually do a WSO. |

If someone can create a strong business and FINANCIAL model, they may have a sustainable wealth building system for themselves. It all starts with a solid financial model with key metrics. Someone who has this will skyrocket their earnings into the next highest tax bracket. I am looking to find a great partner that I can leverage the knowledge I have about apps to sell apps to small to medium size business. An example of how a local business can use an app is best described with a restaurant/tavern. If a bar can send a push notification for free or low cost drinks at specific time to people who buy their apps on a slow day of business, they can expect an increase in patrons who come to the restaurant. They would need a large network of people who have already downloaded the app and approved push notifications from the app on their smart phone. The best plan for local businesses is to not only have a robust app, but also have an extensive mobile marketing strategy. I know some distributors that help people sell apps to businesses but they are run by scam and rip-off artists so I don't want to name names. Beware of hucksters. 2) Some ideas for small businesses:

Can you tell us why you prefer AppMakr over the rest on the list? My situation is that I'm a novice to apps and have no coding skills, and a tight budget, but I'm good with idea creation and marketing strategies. I want to offer apps to entertainers to help them calculate&track their sales vs. expenses and keep notes of certain related things, and I also want to offer apps as an advertising/promotional tool to the clubs where they work. Preferably, I would control content management, but with the ability to let them manage their own content. I'm considering using Wordpress multisites (with a desktop version of the site plus a script for mobile-optimizing the whole site), with the main domain being my company's front end, and the subdomains being where I host the entertainers'/clubs' individual site with a web app directing users to those subdomains (without the url showing in the app). I would like it to be on my own domain and hosting account, make some extra cash running ads on the app, and completely own everything. If there's a way to make most of the content a native app, but with a link in the app leading to everything on the related subdomain (as mentioned above), that would be great. If I could do push notifications per club (to each club's subscriber list), and per entertainer (to each entertainer's subscriber list) that would be even better. Any suggestion from you or anyone else here would be much appreciated. Please keep in mind I have no coding skills and a very tight budget to get these apps made, so an easy way to do it all myself would be awesome. |
Re: Software to Make Apps I'm seling mobile sites and for premium client with hosting plan (monthly charge) I'm using app.cat right now for Iphones but in a future for android too. It serves as a special business card, I can anonymize for extra charge, can make updates, and looks nice. It's web based app |
Re: Software to Make Apps This post was awsome, with lost of great information that I have been looking for. I look forward to your WSO and would support you all the way. Thanks to all the other worrior who gave there comments and information about mobile apps. Thanks again. Ken |
Re: Software to Make Apps I prefer App Makr because it is backed (funded) by a company called Socialize. Drop-In-Simple Social Platform for Your App. Great as a ShareKit Alternative | Socialize | Socialize Socialize is a pioneer in technology for creating "social apps" for the App Stores. Social Apps are the huge money-makers in the app store. For years, App Makr was great, then they changed to a different paid business model a few months ago. I believe App Makr will move back to a model where it is less expensive again and allow you to add a multitude of social features to app you create within their software. If App Makr has fallen off a bit they will be back in full effect and competitive with other inexpensive app builders in the very near future. It is important to build apps now in App Makr and get them submitted/approved because speed of implementation is key here to make money! Quote:

Re: Software to Make Apps Appwarrior and everyone great posts... I have many many offline contacts to restaurants and I am looking for something I can offer to them in the way of a mobile app does anyone have a good one that could be changed slightly for their businesses.. Most of them already have a website not just a website that is optimized for a mobile device. the faster the better and simple is better. I have seen quite a few but an hesitant to pull the trigger on most of them because they seem like they are not flexible enough to be able to offer to many different restaurant types.. any feedback on this is very helpful. thanks mike |
Re: Software to Make Apps AppWarrior- Are you a developer? If so, which platform? Can you provide a screen shot of one of the few apps you have built? How about a link to the app so we can download it. |
Re: Software to Make Apps im interested too! |
Re: Software to Make Apps QuarkXPress v9.1 offers a fairly easy method for building iPhone & iPad apps (but not Android apps). Plus Quark is an excellent alternative to Adobe Illustrator and Dreamweaver. Quark is an innovative website builder...and I bet it can do mobi sites with ease (though I have not experimented with a mobi site yet in Quark). Unfortunately, Quark is pretty darn expensive. |

Re: Software to Make Apps I've heard good things about BizzNessApps as well |
Re: Software to Make Apps These type of App builders are going to continue to pop-up every week or so. This is definitively the way to if you want to create a simple app. I can't wait for something more robust or with lots of templates to start any of the popular type apps for your own brand or site. I like mobileroadie.com and andromo.com |
Re: Software to Make Apps Is there any mobile application(iphone, ipad, android) that transform a wordpress site to a mobile application? |
Re: Software to Make Apps Thank you for the very extensive list. I'll be coming back here shortly. |
Re: Software to Make Apps I would recommend AppMakr you can try that.. |
Re: Software to Make Apps Paul I am developing a business model for selling apps for SMBs. I would like to connect with you and see if we can work together. I am also interested in your WSO. You can reach me at sergio@mobipromo360.com Sergio |

Appifier Converts WordPress Sites Into Fully Functional Mobile Apps | WordPress Rockers It's only FREE to create unlimited apps. You have to publish your app on their platform if you want it to work and that's not free. It's either ad-supported or you pay the monthly "hosting" fees. I don't know what the cost is now but last time I checked they were $69 to $99 per month for each "free" app you create. |
Re: Software to Make Apps Buzztouch is another good iOS and Android web-based app builder site for free. You can also download and host their software on your own server as well. Worth a look. Very good forum with helpful people. This will for some people probably be a bit more involved in some ways than some of the other sites listed above, but so far it is working out for me. |
Re: Software to Make Apps If you are serious about it go with: Unity3D (free) If you are super serious about it then its: Xcode (also free) If you are mainstream go with: Adobe AIR (Flash) or Flex (Flash Builder) ... just my 2 cents |
Re: Software to Make Apps Great list been looking for something like the above for a while, need to spend some time now to go through and see which would be the most useful. |
Re: Software to Make Apps Game Salad is another you could look at for creating Games. Game Design Engine, Make Games for iPhone & Android - GameSalad |
Re: Software to Make Apps Do you know of anything similar to Mobile Roadie but cheaper. They have a great CMS for developing Apps but their monthly fees are very expensive. |
Re: Software to Make Apps Hi, I have extensive experience with most of the mobile application development SAAS companies, and I have had the best experience with Seattle Clouds. I really liked Buzztouch too, but compiling the apk file through eclipse was a pain after 100 apps. Just some info from someone in the mobile app trenches. Cheers, Chris |
Re: Software to Make Apps The business of mobile apps development have caught fire as the world is going mobile. There are a number of resources available over web that claims to easily create mobile app as per your usage. I have gone through a lot of them and didn't find any resource worthy to develop a business specific app. Even I have made a few apps using power point but found these process are useless if I want some professional mobile app. My point for you is, if these resources are this much good why there are organizations for apps development? So if you wish to have an app that generate business for you, better follow standard guidelines of apps development or have it made with some professional mobile apps development company. |
Re: Software to Make Apps thanks for recommend titanium code s/w |
Re: Software to Make Apps Hi there, I have had a look at the lists so far, is anybody here in the Apps marketing area that can provide an updated list on which Apps builder is the best for providing my local businesses an App with push notifications etc etc. It needs to be able to do Apple, Android and maybe put out a html5 mobile page as well. Cheers Dane |

Re: Software to Make Apps There are many software programs which will help you develop advanced apps. But it is essential to know how to use software apps in various projects. There are companies which are into software app development. If you want you can contact one such company for your projects. |

I am looking to build Apps (both Android & Apple) to sell to Offline businesses. What software would you recommend to use for this? I am not a coder and not interested in learing coding so I would be looking for something with templates and wysiwyg editor and one that can publish the apps for easy downloads without having to go through the App stores. |
Re: Software to Make Apps appmaker is a cool tool |
Re: Software to Make Apps My own 2 cents worth of feedback here is this: its not the app software that's the problem, it's getting clients who will actually listen to you for more than 60 seconds. Many of the app makers mentioned here are great. But your typical client can barely understand stuff like Responsive Web Design and Push Notification. If you have the gift of selling, then you're gonna make it irrespective of the software. Same problem with selling web design. I have people who say 'oh i'm fine thanks, i have a FREE yell.com website or i have a wix website, get lost!' Try explaining that these site makers suck. They're not interested. |

Re: Software to Make Apps so much information shared here thanks everyone |
Re: Software to Make Apps Making apps can be a challenge. You have a lot to figure out and consider when it comes to the platform you want you app to be available in, how you want to make it available, what sort of features it has to include and any number of other factors. Of course you have to figure in your own technical abilities. For me, I started out with something simple called infinite monkeys which is free and pretty much a drag and drop setup. I figure i can always move on to something more powerful later. |
Re: Software to Make Apps App Inventor, check 'em. |
Re: Software to Make Apps We have app developers in the team and some of them recommend the appmakr.com as it is an easy one to use. |
Re: Software to Make Apps thanks for the great help. I have gained lots of knowledge from this post. |
Re: Software to Make Apps You can try a few mobile development platforms like wapple, onbile, mobify or wirenode. These are pretty good in providing services of mobile app development. |
