When you recreate your site you may want to consider a few things. 1. Mobile users have different viewing habits/mindset than desktop users 2. Mobile users are mobile - they don't have time read a lot because they may be distracted with things like walking or driving ![]() 3. The mobile device is small so there's only a small amount of information that you can fit on a mobile device with any level of comfort. Even when you fit it to the screen no one wants to scroll all day. 4. Mobile users generally search the web based on need rather than a desire to read. 5. The mobile device is generally used as a yellow pages substitute for local businesses. Having said all of that, I'm not sure that porting your entire website over is the best way to go. Sure, it will be easy with one of those plugins - particularly WP Touch but it won't look good in serving the purposes of getting people in the door. If this site is for a local (optometry?) businesses, you should consider building an alternative mobile version that has Tap to Call, Tap for directions, operating hours, a brief description of products or services, special offers, and a contact form. Your looking at 3-5 pages max. In other words the site should be streamlined to get people from their phones to your door as quickly as possible. Even if that's all the business currently has you still may be looking at a completely separate mobile site because those sites aren't built with marketing in mind - looking pretty is their primary concern. |
