Hey guys, I recently got in mobile marketing as I find the whole concept interesting and not a lot of peoples are taking advantage of it. I got to say, WF has been my greatest source of information and inspiration. Here's what I'm planning to do: First of all I will be targeting both local businesses who own a website and those who don't. For the owners that don't own a website I will be offering the "Complete Package" which includes a basic 3 page website, mobile website as well as the app (depending on the kind of business they run). Since I will be looking to get a lot of clients, my price will be $249,99 one time fee and $24.99/month for updates and maintenance. Idea is very simple but I still need some information from you guys so that I can perfect it and start making some green. For those that already do have a website, I will use my social skills and experience to make the business owner more of a "friend". I will walk into one's business establishment and ask for the owner. I will then ask him a few basic questions (nothing that is personal or that involves my service) for a survey I need to complete for school. After answering my questions, I will then thank him and ask for his email. I will follow up with a letter saying that I am very grateful for him taking the time to answer the question and hope that we stay in contact. A week after, I will call him and email him telling him that I would need his help to answer some other questions. Now, these questions will be more personal and will target his business such as the stuff he is most proud of and the things he wants to change, amount of customers, advertising plans, etc... Depending on the answer he gives me, I will know exactly what his business lacks. Although I know he already owns a website, I will emphasize my questions on how well it works for him, is the price that he paid for it worth it, bla bla. I will then go back home, send him a follow up email thanking him. I will wait a few days and meanwhile, I will build a personalised demo site for his business as well as a demo mobile website and send it to him by email saying how I remembered him saying that his online visibility is that so great and how my service will improve it. I will also state that I would love to meet and talk more about the benefits I offer and the price. I mean seriously, if I am offering a website as well as a mobile website for 249.99 + 24.99/monthly, he would be a fool not to take it. If ever they are solely interested in the mobile website, I will build him the mobile web for 100$ + 14.99/month. This is my business plan for this year. Although I got the "selling" part down, I am having troubles actually finding clients. I've been using google places to target businesses that don't have websites and to get phone numbers but I'm sure there's other ways. Also, I have some questions about mobile websites. Let's say I have a business owner who owns the website "www.mybusiness.com" and I decide to create him a mobile website. Can I use the same domain "www.mybusiness.com" so that when peoples search it on their mobile it shows the mobile website or how does it work exactly. Also, is there a difference between mobile domains and normal domains that you buy off go daddy? Can I host a clients mobile website on hostgator(which is my host provider)? That's all I got for now and I would really appreciate some critiques on the idea, what I can do to improve ot and some answers to my questions. Thank you warriors! |

To answer all your questions about redirecting from the regular site to the mobile site, you should look up WillR WSO. It's $17 if you leave a review for him and contains the whole business in a well laid out method. Also includes excellent templates and the redirect scripts you will need. Cheap investment! I would also start slowly and find out just how much work you are heading for. Believe me when I say that customers don't care what you tell them they are going to get. They are almost always going to want something different and you need to price that way. |
