I am a stock trader by day and a IMer by night. I ran across this article about an Apple Lawsuit win over Samsung regarding patent infringment by Samsung against the iPhone. Full MarketWatch Article The point of interest to us Warriors is the implication that Apple will go after Google next and it Android operating system. This of course could have huge ramifications with the recent App craze going on (I am in on the craze myself, lol ). While I do believe that the android system and Google play will continue on, it is interesting to see Apple flex it's muscle. |

Its just Apple trying desperately to hold its failing market position in the market. Don't forget they are also being sued by heaps of companies for breaching copyright etc. Just the big boys playing games. Q |

Apple is trying hard to re-gain it's users not by providing them several options at lower price but removing opponents from the business. Google is not gonna loose the case if Apple files and will continue supplying android devices.

I personally think apple is on the losing end. However much they may progress in their case, they are fighting a losing battle, google and android apps are doing quite well in the market today. Apple failed to be innovative and relevant in this field.

I've been following this legal battle. Must say that I am very surprised by how Apple won convincingly. This after the courts all over the world have not awarded any resounding victory to any party. The trial reveals the ridiculous patents that Apple have acquired. I think this will hurt the mobile industry as a whole. For example, forcing other manufacturers to not use pinching is like forcing each car maker to invent a different way to steer a car... |

The Android platform will continue to grow in my opinion. This court case does have implications for the platform though. We shall see how it plays out. | |
