Hi guys,

i've been asked to create a landing page for clients app and could do with some advice.

basically, they want a landing page to popup when people attempt to visit their website from a mobile device that allows the user to decide between going to the normal site (well a mobile optimised site) or get taken to the iphone/android app that they have had developed.

I thought it was quite a good idea to get their app downloaded, however i'm unsure on how to best setup the landing page. The only way i can see to do it would be to make a separate mobile mini site and then to have their website redirect to that. Then the mini mobile site would link to their mobile optimised site and app download page.

Any suggestions that would be less work?

When the visitor first arrives at the site you need to check their browsers user-agent and display the appropriate app download page (ie. android or iPhone)

As far as content. I would strongly suggest having a landing page that promotes the app (with a nice picture and bulleted features) and then give the visitor the option to visit the full site (or mobile site).. Remember if they choose to goto the full site, cookie them and add a conditional to the script below, so they dont get redirected again...
