The best way to increase your traffic is by getting reviews. The best place is Fiverr to get such reviews. There are some other places where you can get the reviews, like, androlib, applanet, Appstorm, Appmodo to name a few, just google them. Contact them to get reviews.

If your application is general then you can market it on play store or various Android forum is good for marketing too

You should try to share your app in social media sites, as you can easily increase your app's brand name as well as hits lots of download also.

There are a lot of good websites that can help you make the app known. Ad networks/PR websites, social bookmarking websites, app review websites, related forums, social media, thematic blogs etc. Write press releases about the app and submit them around the web, participate in discussions and react to the feedback.

This guy does not know what he is talking about. Reviews are not a huge factor, downloads are factor #1 after title.

The fastest and quickest way to get reviews, is to have a "popup-screen" every time your users start your app.

Start app -> pop-up (do you like my app) Yes or Maybe later-> your app start.

But as i said, reviews are not a huge factor download is.

What i like to do, to own a market on android is to make.. 3 apps about the same subject and lets everyone advertise for the others.

So i own.
Dog training
Dog Walking
Dog traning pro

You get the idea. You need eyeballs on your app.. thats what you need.. nothing more nothing less.

App store optimization is the name of the game to get the most exposure for your app. There's been a lot of great tips already shared, but heres a few more for you:

#1. Pay Attention to your Keywords - Phrases don't increase rankings anymore so separate them individually.

#2. Localize Keywords for Other Countries - A case study revealed an 767% increase in downloads because of localization.

#3. Focus On Graphics - This makes or breaks the success of an app as demonstrated by the game Train Driver which sold 20 times as many units after a graphic change.

Almost all of the review sites have fairly high prices but you will not have significant benefits. Try to use less expensive solutions such as forums, social media and thematic blogs. You will need to devote more time for such activities but will save money
