Total calls per hour 50 Amount of calls to get one qualified appointment 60 Amount of appointments to get one sale (same day) 8 All calling emergency service type companies that rely on mobile users Under 5% already have a mobile site. The amount of people that have no clue what a mobile site is, overwhelming At least 50% of the appointments get pushed to a later day as the owner is in the field often. |

Sound like a lot of work for very small ROI, do you have other strategies that you do to connect with your clients, or is cold calling all you do or was that the test for cold calling only.

If the appointment gets pushed to a later day, why not agree to meet them in the field? I was in field sales many years ago and I found that clients would not be at their office when I pre-arranged meetings, so I would get the receptionist to find the location they were at and go to site, it certainly stopped them postponing future meetings Just a thought. The thing is, you are educating them, but in a month or two when they have been thinking about how to increase business in the new year they will remember your conversation and will contact you! This is what we find, plant the seed and it will grow |

This is strictly for cold calling. The numbers will bend over time through the pipeline as he said and many will call back later. This is just the initial response using appointment setters who liberally discuss the product and try to get them to talk to me.

How much is your average sale? Your figures imply you are making essentially a sale a day. If that sale is $500 and you are paying salesmen $100 a day. It's not a bad margin at all. Pay five salesmen and get the same results and you will soon scale up. What are your margins if you don't mind me asking? I tend to get one or two sales a day at £150+VAT for the product that I sell - I own the company but I would usually pay £120 for that deal so £240 a day for a sales job isn't too bad! |

Those numbers are on the money. They are not bad at all. The volume is tough though. Only so many people can be managed.
