"Beaker, the science-loving assistant to Dr. Bunsen Honeydew on "The Muppet Show," sighted on Mars

Extra terrestrials may not be openly roaming the Red Planet, but muppets might be. A recent image taken by a camera aboard NASA's Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter in the midst of a Martian dust storm captured a view of Mars' south pole -- and a formation spotted on the film looks eerily familiar.

Many social media users were quick to point out the shape of the geographical formation matched the face of Beaker, the science-loving assistant to Dr. Bunsen Honeydew on "The Muppet Show."

For quite some time I was fascinated by the ability of the WWW to 'inform' people - to show people things they would not see in their lifetime.

Then came social media - and I've seen just how shallow the thought patterns of many have become....and realize the pinnacle of their life experience is/was The Muppets.

The lower left corner of the image seems to be giving us the finger....?

Don't forget Sponge Bob. I know people that go through life quoting him. I know them, but I won't be seen in public with them.

This is how desperate news stations are becoming, reporting crap like this.

Here is another good example of how desperate reporters will grab anything and spin it, to sound like something that it isn't.

There is a video, supposedly showing a group of highly intelligent cows shoeing someone into the hands of authorities, pfffft.

    Total crap!

I lived on a farm for about 35 years, and every-time l walked through the paddocks with cows they would always run up to me, expecting some hay, or mess about behind me, (playing about).

And sure when a half ton cow or steer is playing chicken with you and just stops it can get a bit scary, but they are, or these ones were after food and didn't give a crap about anything else.

Mass media are obviously bored sh***less or desperate for a money making story, a sad state of affairs in our world.

The next thing you know is they'll be posting dozens of pages worth of photos of Martian rocks claiming they're hotels, cars, works of art depicting first harvests and all sorts of other rubbish.

When they get to that point, they'll have truly hit rock bottom.

You think that's crazy. Some jerk on another forum has done a load of pages claiming that our history is being subtly changed. People like that should be locked up.

True, if Fox news wants to cover a story like this, then we need to give them credit.

This reminds me of a military satellite around Earth, which costed tens of millions to put there, but the first image they show the joint chiefs, is a nudist colony.

I thought that story was hilarious. I also grew up on a farm and couldn't believe reporters would think the cows were 'herding' the person. They are curious animals. - put a person in front of them that doesn't know about cattle and I guess it could look like a (slow speed) chase.

Story would have been better if there had been a bull in the field....just sayin'....

True, and the main reason l didn't post it here as a stand alone thread, since it had a p***weak premise.

I only ever had two cows attack me, one was a steer that had a sun related illness, and l had to shoe it into a race each day and inject it with some medicine. He was fine initially and enjoyed the daily Lucern bale of hay, but after a week, of being away from his mates, he became aggressive, and well, when a large animal gets annoyed in a small space.

Second time was when l made the mistake of shoeing a cow and calf into a smaller yard, it almost worked, but she basically charged me, knocked me off my feet and l made a bee line for the nearest fence.
