I just spent 3 hours creating a new Warrior Path, posted it, and it vanished in thin air...

Then, I posted a question in the main internet marketing area... that post vanished too!

AND THIS IS THE THIRD TIME YOU'VE POSTED ABOUT IT IN THE PAST FEW MINUTES!

Warrior Path threads are moderated - which you should know. They need to meet the standards set for those that section - specific goals, time frames, etc.
It is not unusual for members to be asked to define the 'path' or be more specific about the goals, etc.

I got on the scale yesterday for the first time in weeks. Since Thanksgiving I've been eating like it's a spectator sport...only gained 2 lbs. That is probably because except for last week I've showed up for my workouts.

I'm surprised you would gain weight when you are running 4x a week - are you just running to the refrigerator?

      Kay,
For me at least, iam convinced that exercise itself is not for losing weight. It is good for maintaining but unless you train like an Olympic marathoner, exercising won't burn the pounds off if you are eating badly. That being said I get a tremendous amount of mental and spiritual edge from exercising. Which you cannot really put a price on

I am as slim now as I have ever been but I eat fairly well.

The Keto meals which I throw over a baked potato and the healthy multigrain sandwiches (Daves Bread) I eat with a chopped up apple, grapes and a few crackers keep me this way, along with a few other things. Try that for a week or two. You will find it filling and not get bored with it. The large sized bread slices: I butter the base with Earth Balance alt butter, then a few slices of tomatoes from the vine, generous black pepper over that, then one or two slices of Sargento's swiss cheese and some thin slices deli meat which you can be generous with. Finally top it with some Dukes Mayo with a hint of lime.

I have a few Keto snacks but I have managed to dispel my sweet tooth a lot by eating Jacobs Cream Crackers (UK sections if the stores like Kroger) lightly buttered with swiss cheese slices and some Dukes Mayo on the top , a few grapes to accompany. Swiss cheese has the least amount of salt.

I hardly exercise, but I am slim

Kay, I busted out laughing. I can't run anymore but the dog and I walk 4 or 5 times a day. Unfortunately the cold and my knees and hips keep me from walking any distance.

I'm actually caught in a catch 22 because my weight is a major part of the problems with my knees and hips.

      Keep up the exercise everybody.

I'm going with early time restricted feeding eating almost all my calories before noon and not eating anything after 3 pm

I don't care as much about scale weight right now though it's completely about vanity. I was down below a 34 waist line. But my muscle in my shoulders arms and legs was all flabby.. so after I get rid of the visceral fat I have I will shift to weight training to get a good amount of muscle tone and the goal to get to a 34 waist line again.

I can't complain stayed home and enjoyed the evening. As far as self-improvement, I walk just about 40 minutes every day. I'm going to try to cut back on a few calories. My biggest downfall is I sit too much the rest of the day, and I need to become more active again.

Let me clarify from my OP... iam doing an all out
" mini fast" for probably 3 days. What I mean by "mini fast" is that I am not eating at all except for two protein granola bars a day . Iam doing this because if I go cold turkey with not eating at all my body will not fall asleep at nights . That's the reason for that.

Hence I call it a "mini fast" .

IMO you would be better off to plan your food intake daily - or just a day or two ahead.

When you have a family it's much harder to take on a diet that sets you apart from others in the family. You can make rice bowls at home that are better than Chipotle and healthier, too....or you can plan one visit to chipotle a week or month and enjoy it without guilt.

When your 'diet plans' set you apart from family members ...you will feel deprived before long. I give you credit for choosing lunch with your wife over a 'fasting' diet. I also question what you teach children if you focus on extreme diets or unusual eating habits.

With the fruit it is better to go with frozen or canned than what you buy in the produce section. Get a blender some coconut flakes . Some almond butter or cashew butter or peanut butter. Get the mix correct for your taste buds. The problem I have had in the past with fruits bought from the produce section is that it tends to get moldy within a few days.

With the salad instead of store bought dressing try to use balsamic vinegar and a good olive oil .

Another thing with the frozen fruit you can get honey and real yogurt that has fat and low sugar. Then mix in the honey and fruits to your preference.

This one isn't going to sound healthy but if you at least make eggs and becon for breakfast save the bacon fat and use that instead of butter or oil if you pan fry anything. Or fry up a few pieces of bacon and cook some stir fry vegetables in the bacon fat and add salt to taste.

That is the nature of fresh fruit and some fruits will decompose faster than others. Blueberries are tough little critters and stay fresh for a week or so. If you have fresh fruit you know you can't eat 'in time' - toss some of it in a freezer bag and make your own frozen fruit.

Strawberries, red raspberries, blackberries - need to be used within 2-3 days of purchase. blackberries will last a bit longer if you layer them on a paper towel as moisture causes the mold to grow.

Don't forget bananas - they aren't super low calorie but full of potassium and other good stuff and they will keep you feeling full longer than berries.

Call me crazy but just got back from running 3.5 miles in 8 degree weather ( wind chill). For a south Texan that's cold lol

First 10 minutes the strong wind nearly froze my face. After these initial 10 minutes , my body's thermal heated up and I felt great !!

It's warmer here in NJ than in Texas, it was a balmy 26 degrees on my walk this morning. All kidding aside, you should take a look into getting a neck gaiter. If you are running in that type of weather. It helps keep your face from getting cold or frostbite. I wear one all the time in cooler temperatures even if I don't cover my face. It helps keep the wind from getting down into a jacket or a coat.

Here are two different styles, there are plenty of different brands out there and price ranges - https://www.ariat.com/10037057_19290...ACC_color=NAVY

This style I have never tried, but Costco had them in stock on Friday. - https://industrialsafety.com/radians...m_content=Main

I have a neck gaiter I paid $5 for - it's not at all thick but does a really good job anyway in moderately cold temps. In THIS cold I wear a type of ski mask. An old fabric covid mask would be better than nothing in this cold.

Amazon has the half masks/ski masks/motorcycle masks for $7 and up. It's better for you to keep your mouth and nose covered when exercising/walking in these low temps. Helps to moderate temp of the air going into your throat and lungs.

Intermittent fasting can really help with weight loss when combined with cardio. I'm focusing on strength training more myself - just started using some resistance bands to build some muscle. Nothing too intense yet but hoping to feel stronger by the end of the winter.

I have been getting much better sleep at night then I was from the beginning of September to the very end of December. Also I generally consume the majority of my calories by 11 am and stop eating completely between 1and 2 pm so by the time I go to sleep I'm not digesting any food . I also don't tend to get hungry until just before breakfast. At about 7:30 am

Early time restricted feeding. I know it's all considered part of of intermittent fasting. But the sleep is a big component when I get poor quality sleep or sleep deprivation or I eat too close to going to sleep my weight goes the wrong direction.

With that being said the weight at the doctors office was done about 2 pm so after I had eaten all my food for the day and the extra weight from hydration.

I'm shifting from loosing weight to toning muscle though and building stamina. I got a weird illness for a few weeks that made it hard to breathe if I tried walking any distance. And I had somehow sprained my ankle and couldn't walk to far. When I could breathe fine.

So the weight loss was with less activity and more sedentary behavior. Just better sleep and a more restricted feeding window without over eating.

Yeah the importance of sleep cannot be over emphasized. It's right up there with what you eat. Your body goes through much healing in a sleep cycle. Sleep is also crucial as it pertains to mental health!!
