Big surprise for me yesterday, I took a shot and won a Dell Notebook yesterday from Walmart.

It seems Dell did some bad advertising and given a huge fine. Since it was national advertising it was agreed to let Dell give away the notebooks.

You might want to see if you can find out how to win one through Walmart in your area.

Congratulations. The only thing I ever won in a competition was an Ovaltine bar of chocolate.

Would be interested to know the name (like Latitude for example) and model number. A friend wants to know.

I have two old laptops under the bed and an up to date 17.3 inch metal chassis Dell i7 which folds all the way back to make a huge touchpad tablet. Too heavy for that, lol. I think I'm done with needing any more.

Also becoming a huge fan of mini PC's of late. They are beginning to rival full sized desktops in speed and so convenient because of their size and inexpensive. I recently setup a friend with one, an Intel i3 mini PC I owned. I bought a Ryzen 7 model to replace it, much faster. I found a great Sansui 27", 100mhz refresh rate 1080p monitor on Amazon at $99.00. Amazing value. Good monitor.

If you want a cheap but good monitor I would say that can't be beaten.

Here ends my latest tech update.

Ken was that part of Walmart's ACP program? Did the Walmart store hand you a free laptop? How were you contacted about the free notebook? I would be very careful. Did someone ask for credit card information? Scams to be aware of. Here is a link that explains one of the scam - https://malwaretips.com/blogs/walmart-dell-laptop-scam/
    From October 2023

What to watch out for - You Receive an Unsolicited Email. The email congratulates you, claiming you have been specially selected out of all Walmart customers to receive a free Inspiron laptop. Inside the email - click a link to go claim your prize laptop from Walmart

The site has Walmart's logo, colors, layout, and images making you think you are on the official website you will be asked to pay a small shipping, processing, or handling fee. This is usually $2-$5. The scammers need your credit card information to charge you this small fee to confirm it is an active account

There's no mention of Walmart giving away free Laptops in the above settlements.
