Makes for an interesting read .... especially for
all the young knowalls who have *never" really
experienced anything like the current situation.

Older generations are far tougher and wise than
you might think

For anyone who bothers to look there are a great many similarities between what we are doing now and what happened during the stock market crash of 1929. In a really odd coincidence (maybe?) we are rapidly approaching the 79th anniversary of Black Monday, and we are watching our market plummet. I am still holding out hope we don't see things reach those dire levels.

Since 1929, there had been more severe one day crashes, notably "Black Monday" in 1987.

However, after one day crash in 1929, the Dow proceeded to lose almost 90% of its value from its all time high. If you use the same correlates, it means that the Dow will bottom at 1400 pts!

Bernanke is supposed to have studied the Great Depression and the Japanese situation closely and he is trying to do exactly the opposite of what the Feds did in the 1930's. But a lot of things are now out of his control since it is now a global crisis.
