In the newspaper yesterday there was an article about Iraq's government economy.

Seems the problem there is that they have a huge surplus because the new Iraqi government has not yet learned how to spend money. In the US, of course, we know there should never be any money left over when government is done spending - so clearly Iraq is doing something wrong.

Thus, advisers from the US on government policies and economic policies are in Iraq with the goal of educating the government there on how to tax and spend the country's money.

The article was on a serious note, and was taken from an announcement by the US about this "economic training".

All I could think was - "that poor country is doomed"

Well, Kay - that shouldn't be a surprise. We have pharmaceutical companies writing the courses that teach our doctors. Wouldn't it just follow sensibly to have our gov teach economics? LOL.

Things just keep getting more bizarre.
