    Had a couple of my clients hit with it and thankfully they called me before hitting the 'Buy Now' button.
    The first earned revenues of at least $72 million over a three-year period. Approximately one million people were tricked into buying the scareware for up to $129 per copy.

    Hate the scareware -not the fact that they got caught.

    That stuff can be worse than they make it sound. My niece's computer got hit after her roommate clicked on the stuff when a popup for it came up - and bam. 6 hours of work to remove it and never once sure that it could be done without a reinstall. Nasty crap. At least we have a motive for people doing this one - money..... some of the stuff going on is just pure evil with no purpose other than ruin.
