thoughts going out to my US friends

My thoughts and prayers are going out to all following the sickening events! As a father, it really sickens me to the core when something like this happens.

Christmas has been destroyed for so many families, all at tye hands of one twisted individual. Lets all count our blessings this holiday season and spare a thought for those going through hell.

Lets hope this is the last we see of such atrocities, and look forward to a happy, healthy and prosperous new year.

Stay strong America, and remember your friends the other side of the pond are thinking of you right now!!

Love and very best wishes to you all.

Are we talking about the shooting in Connecticut or did I miss something?

Yes the events that happened yesterday were despicable and heinous. It is still sending shivers down my spine. My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone that was affected by this tragedy.

Thank you for your thoughts. I don't live there, but this is a profoundly tragic event for all Americans.

No disrespect, but you could have picked a more appropriate forum. :/

It'll most likely get moved to off topic sooner or later but there's nothing wrong with offering people kind thoughts after something so horrible has happened. There were plenty of threads after the tsunami offering our Japanese warriors solace, prayers and thoughts.

Don't get me wrong, I HATE that it even COULD happen, etc.... And louie6925 Most feel as I do. We hate it, but it doesn't change the fact that things are getting worse and this was simply the latest symptom. As long as people want to hurt people, and nothing is there to deter them, they WILL! THAT is why you don't just step into a snake pit. If you do, you will likely get BIT! In a snake pit, you need some kind of armor. For an event like this, ironically, you need something with TEETH! If the law did its job, it would keep people like this off the street and/or deter them. Why is NOBODY mentioning THAT!

I still want to know what makes THIS event so tragic. In a way, it is saying that others before were non events.

Very good points well made and i fully agree, and it by no means belittles other tragic events! However as i stated in my original post, as a parent, i somehow find it deeply upsettung whenever such young innocent souls are needlessly taken away and makes my heart bleed for the parents and families. If it was one if my children i can safely say it would destroy me, and really dont know how you would come back from that.

All i wanted to do was offer my thoughts at an extremely sickening time.

what makes THIS event so tragic
        It's simple, Steve - children.

It's bad when adults are attacked in theaters or shopping malls... we mourn and say "wrong place at the wrong time".

5-10 yr old kids with multiple gunshots is an aberration we find hard to accept and can't explain. They were where they were supposed to be - and they were supposed to be safe in school.

The age of victims of this incident is what sets it apart from others.

It actually doesn't take much to be considered a 'difficult woman' -
that's why there are so many of us.
