DVD Plays Perfect On PC But Not So On Home Unit

Okay, my wife and I were watching "Numbers" on our home DVD unit and it
was breaking up an skipping like crazy. So I took the DVD and stuck it in my
PC and it played perfectly.

The DVD player is very old and we use it constantly. We've also never cleaned it.

Should I invest in a DVD player cleaner (they're about 10 bucks) or just get a
new player? It's not the DVD that's the problem. We do have DVDs that don't
play anywhere.

Suggestions?

    Hi Steven,
Depending on what you need based on your TV(HD, 3D, 4D, Surround Sound...)and how it connects to the player, You can pick up a decent Sony DVD player for around $30-$35 at Meyers or Wal-Mart.

Spending the $10 for a cleaner may still be needed in the future although if you purchase one just to see if it fixes your old player and it fails then that money could have have been placed towards the purchase of a new player.

If your TV is HD then I recommend that you splurge and get a Blue Ray DVD player($65-$250).

    Just my thoughts.
    Have a Great Day!
    Michael
