So that's it, then. The last remaining founder member of The Ramones has passed away.

Tommy, Joey, Johnny and Dee Dee. Masters of the succinctly sublime popular song, with a style and attitude that epitomized the spirit of rock 'n' roll, they created the template not just for punk, but for a whole host of followers right up to today.

I can't imagine those turbulent and thrilling late '70s years without a Ramones soundtrack.

RIP Tommy.

    The drums were one thing so outstanding about the Ramones. "rapid-fire"!!!

    As you probably surmised The Ramones are my favorite band of all time and I am going to cry now if listen to 'I Remember You'.

    The Ramones were a great, straight-ahead rock'n'roll band who often out-harmonized the Beach Boys (yes, it's true). They were so far ahead of their time here, it took the Brits to make it a movement, and then it came back to Rockaway Beach from London.

    And Sheena? She is a punk rocker!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
