Has anyone done local seo for hotels?

OFFLINE MARKETING

Hi All

I started working on local seo for local companies, one niche is going very well but the other is in the hotels area and im stuck at number 4..under the google places

Has anyone worked on hotels or avoided , more competitive... just wondering as im about to drop it anyway

You can start with creating Google maps account for the hotel prior to doing SEO. Google maps is also helpful so you need to add your business to their listing.

Why not try so low level PPC, you could run a trial with a google voucher to see how it works out and what keywords work, this would also give you some valuable data to get started on your SEO.

I have set up an SMS campaign for a very old independently owned hotel. We're talking 1800's old. I started by setting them up with an adwords campaign using the mobile site I had made for them. Then I advised them to run a mobile coupon on the advertised page. To this day they are getting a nice response from that PPC ad.
