pricing an app

how do you price an iphone app? i have a mold restoration company that wants one. says he has seen them from 600-1500. any suggestion on how to address this situation?

    Search sites like odesk or elance for a programmer. Even the warrior for hire section has some app developers I believe.

    Why is he convinced on an Iphone app? How many people are really going to want to download an app from a mold restoration company lol? I know you do some mobile websites, say you can build him one for less than the cost of an app and reach more users (android, etc.).

    I would just say be diligent in your research for developers. You can definitely post listings out on other sites such as oDesk but that doesn't mean you are going to get someone that knows what they are doing. So the first thing you will need to do is figure out the requirements needed for the app. Figure out what your client wants to do with the app and write those down. Then make sure the developer knows what will be involved. He/She will need this in order to give an accurate price on what it would cost to develop it. If anyone gives you a price without knowing the requirements then I would say beware. Once you have your cost from the developer you will need to add your markup and that should give you a good idea of the final cost to the client. Just my 2 cents...
