....create a small business website?? I am a beginner; I have one blog that is earning a small amount of money each month. I am working on building that up, but in the mean time I have been considering ways to make money that won't require constant maintance like my blog.

So, my hair dresser recently opened a new salon. When searching for her online I realized she did not have a website yet. So, I have a few questions....

1. How hard would it be to create a nice website for a small hair salon????
2. Could a beginner who is only familiar with wordpress blogs do a decent job???
3. Would a hair salon even benefit from a website??? If so, what would the selling points be?
4. What would be a good price to ask.... I was thinking around $300. $150 up front and $150 after the project is done.
5. Is there an easy _____ don't know the proper word, but like wordpress for a static site?

If I convinced her to buy the site and it was sucessful I know there are many small businesses in my town. If I could get her to write a review...maybe I could build it into something bigger. Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

    1. It depends are you're going to build are you going with custom or premade and edit it?
    2. Yes, WP is extremely easy to use watch some YouTube videos on it it helps a lot when beginning.
    3. Yes they will benefit, for 1, if you optimized it for search engines it will help them be more visible. For example optimize the keywords: "Hair Salon in City" "City Hair Salon" "Hair Salon City" Another reason is they can show off their work that they previously did and have a back story etc, people love seeing that when they come to a website.
    4. Again you have to refer to question #1
    5. Blog platform? yes but WordPress is probably the easiest and going to give you the best cleanest result.

It is incredibly easy, for a small amount of money I was able to hire a professional and create my website, which turned out very well.

I typically do a custom page for clients because of their demand for it but I did try to use a place called Homestead under recommendation from a long time warrior. It is extremely easy to design professional looking sites with but it HAS to be hosted on their server, which was the non-sell point for most of my clients. In other words, why would they pay $25 a month for hosting when hostgator is offering I think $5/mn hosting (and for some reason most owners know this).

A word about the hair salon being a client. One thing to sell them on is not so much the website but perhaps a social site because as my own hair place said, 99% of my business is thru referral. I do believe there is a component in homestead that allows you to quickly connect the two (facebook and website).

If it was my I would also try to sell them on PPC campaigns. Something like, "Ugly Haircut? Cant take it anymore? etc........." and sell them on facebook or even google network.

I have no agenda but to help those in the same situation. This I feel will pay the bills.
