I'm not sure if I understand the question, but guessing and hoping that I'm right... It's probably best to try it and see for yourself. If you truly hate the results, you can always delete the photo. Sites that ask that are usually using a photo that's already online (at a URL) rather than storing it on their own server. It saves them file space. |

They are wanting you to upload a photo of yourself and are asking you the location of it......I think.

In the forum you have a profile picture and an avatar picture. The avatar will be on every forum post like mine. The profile is seen if people click your username or go to your public profile. You need to upload the picture for each option. You should have the picture on your PC hard drive and when you are in the upload process it will allow you to browse your hard drive for the file - It is more or less the same for any application that asks you to upload your picture. For your blog or your site, you would put the picture on your domain (hosting account) an then display it from inside your file manager. (with the big blue 'e' icon next to the file name.) Look up at the browser address bar and this is the address of your picture. Copy and paste that into the source code for your site or blogger settings. To upload the file just go to the file manager and at the bottom is a button that says 'upload files' - you will browse your hard drive for the file and name it or accept the same name it already has on your PC and then click the button. You will see it then with your other website files. A picture is a good idea because this business is built on trust and relationship. Having your picture will create trust because they can see you are a real person like they are and not a machine or corporation. |
