Articles and Hyperlinks
Share on:
fb share twitter share gplus share more share

Here's my first question...I've been reading Bum Marketing and he talks about Ezine Articles is one of the best, but it has a whole bunch of crazy rules and stuff. One of those rules is something about not being able to put your link to your affliliate website or something like that.
So my question is...Which URL do we put on these articles? Our personal domain site or the PIP site that has our ID at the end of it?
Oh yea one more...How do you turn plain text into a hyperlink for these articles? It's easy in MS Word, but I can't figure it out anywhere else. I have noticed that some places do it automatically and some don't. Like if I want my URL just to say "come on in" or something like that, where you can not see the actual URL.

Thanks in advance

Hi Leslie,

I'm not sure, but, I believe there was a post inside this forum that stated they weren't accepting articles any more that promoted PIPS. I may be wrong.

Below is the code you would use to hyperlink your website. You can put just about anything at the end as text for your link.

Put what ever you want here for your text

Since they won't directly let you promote PIPS, promote your primary domain name.

Best of luck

Allen

and you are not permitted to put hyperlinks into the body of the article with EZA anyways - certainly not promoting your site - only in the resource box!

Make your resource box really good - thats your payoff for providing top quality info in your articles!

Hi leslieg,
EzineArticle is a good place to submit your articles, however you can submit to more than just one directory.
There are many article directories and each has different rules, and you should read them before you submit.

and more

and you can use

Hey Everybody,
Thanks for all the great advice, this article thing is going to take some real learning. Does anybody have any advice on the easiest way to come up with an article and do we use the same article for all the different places we can put them?
I put one on goarticles and ezine last night, just waiting for the ezine's approval. I put my personal url in the resource box. I tried to get one in searchwarp, but man they're good. My account was closed not 5 seconds after I posted it. I used my personal url and didn't mention affiliate anywhere in the article and wrote it like a review and they still canned me. Oh well...

Allen, when you said they might not be taking any from PIPS, what does that mean for us? Did we get a bad rap from somebody or something? Oh yea, thanks for the hyperlink setup. I can't stand using the real thing, it's just ugly!

Tanny, thanks for the hook-ups on the article place. You know Stone gived you a list of 100, but it's nice to hear from the experienced which one's work better.

Kym, speaking of the "resource box", what exactly are we suppose to put in there, other than our URL?

Last but not least for everybody...In the articles, do you write them in the first person (I, me) or the third person (you, we) and from the one's I've looked at they look like a review type article. The article I wrote I actually titled "Plug-In Profit - My Own Personal Experience". I that wrong?
Okay, I'll stop for now, I'm going to go on to the blogging section now. I'm sur I'll have tons of questions for that, since I have never blogged either. Man, I'm really starting to feel old and out of touch.

Thanks again,

Leslie

I looked into ezinearticles.com a while back and just refreshed myself with the site today. I have one big question...

Does anyone actually read these articles? I mean, on average, they are SO badly written and rarely seem to provide any information of value. Just fluffy prose to fatten out the word count. I just can't imagine that anyone would spend much time there looking for stuff to read.

VERY good question, Russ
Everything I've read says that articles are the way to go, but how does someone actually come across "YOUR" article, when there are so many out there on the same topic? When someone Googles for "online home business or internet marketing", 15 million things pop up. If you Google PIP, Stone's article is still on the top.
So yes, I'm lost too. Come on you old timers that are making money, give us newbies some real experience clues...PLEASE

I'm with you, Leslie. I'd read all that stuff, too, about writing articles for ezines being an important part of your internet presence. I'm an OK writer so I figured I'd do that. But after seeing the quantity and (lack of) quality of the existing articles, I decided it would be a monumental waste of my time. Maybe the search engines value the links to your site highly, but I can't really imagine that they would.

People do read the articles and just as important web masters do use them as articles on their blogs and web sites complete with your resource box and links. I probably get 30-50 visitors a week from my articles.

Just as important is the backlinks you create. Your resource box with your backlinks is a main source of linking for the search engines. The more backlinks the higher page position you gain. I've seen people who write 5-6 articles a day just for the purpose of building back links.

Article marketing is a win-win deal. It can be a little time consuming at first but it gets easier. You can get great ideas for articles by searching for your keywords at places like Ezine Articles. Find articles that strike an interest and that you can relate and then rewrite it in your own words. It's hard to come up with a topic that hasn't been covered a hundred times over so rewriting it in your own words expressing your own ideas is a great way to do it.

If you look at the web sites that are first on page one of Google for any search you do relating to home business or affiliate marketing those sites got there by building backlinks. In the home business Niche articles marketing is a key to getting to page one. The more backlinks the closer you will get to the first spot.

But, the competition is tough as many of these sites have thousands of backlinks and growing. So to beat them you choose lesser competitive key words or better said "Long Tail Key Words". Instead of trying to place for "Intenet Marketing" or "work from home" use Google to find keywords with less competition, https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal. Type in the keywords you want to use and look for those with a good amount of monthly searches but fewer competing sites. Then use those keywords to build rank for. Use them in your Author resource box and in all your blog post and articles by writing them in strategic places.

I should add. Google say's to add one keyword per line. Make that one keyword phrase per line, up to 5 words if you want.

You don't have to be number one for the top keywords to make money.
