(FRESH!) Something Clicked
Share on:
fb share twitter share gplus share more share

Hello,

As I was writing my own sales letter and I learnt
about how to structure a letter so that it appeals
to the visitors and prospects... something clicked
in my head and I thought of sharing it with you just
before I send this in newsletter format to my own
list.

While anyone can "know" about writing a sales
letter, once you get down and dirty, you really see
the where you've gone right and wrong. Especially
when you have experienced eyes looking at what
you're doing.

So, as I wrote, I learnt that you have to stay
focused on one particular aspect of your letter.
You should really only focus on one benefit on
your letter and for everything else, throw it in as
a bonus.

While this is simple and makes sense, it's not as
easy to implement. See, whenever you try to
promote your own business (like PIPS), you don't
have to state out all the various benefits of it.

You don't have to tell them that they will get
to promote many businesses with one site, you
don't have to tell them that you are generating
several streams of income from one site and you
don't even need to tell them that they will get
cut-and-paste email marketing campaigns or
a full 30-day training to help them along.

While it's all fine and dandy, what is the one
REAL thing you are talking about? You are selling
the idea of making real money from the comfort
of home on the internet.

Everything else was thrown in as a bonus.

Sure, it's easy to say it because well, it's easy
to see. But when you are writing a letter, it's
not that easy to bring it across because people
(or maybe just me) like to beat their chest and
claim to be the best with all the great benefits
(call it primal instincts).

Have I seen successful businesses and email
letters? Yes, I have. In fact, I've seen many
marketers who got started later than I did...
but are now way ahead in the game.

Simply because they understood that they just
need to drive home one simple thing in their
business. Drive home that real need to people
and get in to the real core of their desires.

The bonuses and stuff are just like the smell
of fresh cookies but the what we're targeting
at is the desire of eating great tasting cookies.

Sell the cookies, use the rest as bonuses.

Hope this helps!

Asher

Heh, leave it to PaX (is this new?) to use
waxing, knives and drawer all in less than
50 words as a compliment.

I do try to come in and contribute more in
terms of content here. It's the best way
I know how to give back to PIPS for getting
me started

Thank you very much, Jeff. I've learnt that
attitude determines altitude. It's all the more
important to have it when times are tough
and trying.

And yes, I will not fail.

Asher,
Greta message, I hope some of it will stick to our PIPS members, and as you said it's easier said than done.

But practice brings perfect, and in this business you need a lot of it.
