I too experience the same issue. Most of the old backlinks are gone in webmaster tools. I have not noticed any SERP change yet!!

Why don't you keep the same website structure and install a wordpress blog in a different folder called blog ?

EG: www. mysite .com /blog

The additional part is blog only. No current URLs are...

I am doing on squidoo lenses and seems it is fine. But for the best one I feel is ezine but they seems tough in approving new articles.

As long as there is no active competition, you can fix your product price. In long term plan it is better provide the product in a reasonable price.
