Do a back up first of your site. I am assuming you are using wordpress as well. Switching themes shouldn't erase your content. But if you have certain things on side bars then you need to save...

you need to type in the url - yourdomain.com/wp-admin. replace yourdomain with the actual domain that you set it up with.
