Flowplayer errors driving me mad

Hey there,

I'm not sure if this is where I should post this, but this is where I'll start.

I have some videos on Amazon S3 that I have protected by InstaMember membership plugin. I've created several protected pages for users to access the videos and InstaMember uses Flowplayer.

Everything works great... SOMETIMES.

But, 40% of the time I get an error similar to this:



As you can see, it reads: "200, Stream not found, NetStream.Play.StreamNotFound, clip... etc." (I blurred out the direct link and access key info).

This error only happens sometimes. Sometimes it loads just fine. Also, if I wait, say, 10-minutes and reload the page it often works again.

Things I have tried:

1. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the latest version of Flashplayer.
2. I have used different browsers (same results).
3. I have used different computers (same results).
4. I have used both Windows and Mac computers (same results).
5. I have tried to use JW Player (cannot get it to work in general, so can't verify if it's the player or not.)
6. I have checked the help forums at Flowplayer [dot] org/forum. Others have the same issue but the Admins keep suggesting ridiculous ideas like "the link is invalid." Which is crap because it DOES work sometimes, and it works on multiple computers, different browsers and different operating systems. I'm not the only one who's getting frustrated with them. They are no help.

This is for a new product I'm about to launch and this is the last issue to resolve.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    It most likely means that the video is not found and is not on the server. It is likely to be some sort of "Connect" error. FlowPlayer will play the video only after it will connect with the video file.

    This could also happen when the URL of the video is too long for the FlowPlayer (or any other player) to process it. As a result the FlowPlayer times out while it tries to connect with the video. It has been failing to process the video URL within the "time limits".

    FINALLY,

    Try one of the following FlowPlayer alternatives:

    I ended up using Secure HTML5 Video Player built on the Video.js framework:

    Everything works cool now.

    I think the problem is that AWS doesn't allow streaming, you have to use cloudfront for that. Anyway, Flowplayer tries to stream and, since my videos are so small it was able to periodically play them.

    Anyway, the new player preloads the videos and they work.
