Can I configugure multiple Dmarc?

Dear,

I am using cloudflare dns management

I am using few smtp provider, each of them had their own sfp, dkim and dmarc.

I know I can configure multiple SFP, and DKIM in my DNS, but when I try to configure another DMARC, it shows error: An A, AAAA or CNAME record already exists with that host. (Code: 81053)

I found that my hostname _dmarc and value to_dmarc.FirstProvider.com

how can I add in _dmarc.SecondProvider.com ?
#configugure #dmarc #multiple

  • Are you adding it as a TXT record?

I am adding it as CNAME, instruction given by the smtp service provider

  • You can't have multiple CNAMEs with identical hosts. That's not how CNAMEs work. Use a different host (subdomain) for the second provider

_dmarc will be the hostname provide by both provider.

is there any way to combine both value as 1?

just like spf where it can combine different provider together.

  • No, CNAME doesn't work like that. DNS is not a load balancer.

One per domain would be best, and also probably was is doable as it wants to be used as dmarc.domainname.com

Enter DMARC, "Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting & Conformance". DMARC was created to tell a participating receiving server what to do with a message that fails both SPF and DKIM validation. In other words, what to do if a message claims to be from you, but isn't.

is it without setting a proper DMARC is fine?

As long as SPF and DKIM set properly, DMARC can be optional?

If you want to do that you should use different platform.

I realize I can design different SFP, and DKIM in my DNS, however when I endeavor to arrange another DMARC, it demonstrates mistake: An, AAAA or CNAME ...

No, you don't should be an individual from DMARC.org so as to be ensured by DMARC. As a sender, you essentially need to start distributing a DMARC record, and as a recipient you can start to follow up on DMARC approach assertions when you're prepared. The dominant part of DMARC deployers are not DMARC.org Members.

There has been a lot of discussion of a DMARC DNS record type, but there is no process underway right now to create one. There are many reasons for that, but the simplest is that a TXT entry is an immediate path to DMARC implementation.

Yes, you can have multiple reporting addresses in your DMARC record. According to the DMARC specification, there is no limit to reporting addresses.

Indeed, you can have various announcing addresses in your DMARC record. As per the DMARC particular, there is no restriction to revealing locations
