Looking for script to empty online Mailboxes

Hello Folks,

I'm looking for a script to empty the mailboxes I create for domains with cPanel, so I don't have to go in and delete manually when the boxes are full.

I've searched on Google periodically for several months without success.

Can anyone point me in the direction of such a script, either for sale or free?

Don't know about an "outside script", but if you have your own server and run cPanel WHM, you can install ConfigServer Mail Manage, which will allow you to view all mail accounts and their quota usage, and empty any mailboxes you want. You still have to do it manually, but at least you only have to login once, and all the information is conveniently in one place.

I also have their free ConfigServer Mail Queues and ConfigServer Security & Firewall products installed, highly recommended!

    Hope this helps.

I'm really looking for a hands off solution. A script I can run with a cron job, so I can set it and forget it.

I have AutoResponse Plus which includes a php script that empties the catch all Mailbox. But this is written to work with the autoresponder, and won't work as a stand alone script.

Have a look at these - might do the trick: mail scripts

There are also some solutions to delete emails over a certain age posted on the cPanel forums (e.g. how to auto delete all emails older than 2 years (cpanel)? Any scripts?), maybe you can adapt them to your needs.

Finally, from what I understand, you can also just delete a particular email folder (say, "inbox") to empty it, and it will automatically be recreated. In this way, you could probably create a script with a cron job to automatically delete all/certain inboxes (or other mail folders) ever so often. Just be sure there are no email in them that need to be retained! (See here)

If none of the above work for you, I suggest posting on the cPanel forums, someone there is sure to have a solution.
