You could always setup a free live chat room script. Most of them have filter settings you can use to prevent spam and so forth.

You can put live group chat on your web pages. It's fast, even with hundreds of people.

Remember if you find and use any, it'll block yours too.

You can easily find a free one with filter settings as stated before. You just need to configure the filter your self.

Do any of these plugins sync the logins (or use the logins) created within Wordpress Users? That's what I was hoping to find so folks don't need to create new accounts just for the chat.

On my Drupal sites, when I wanted something like this to work, and to plug into my Pidgin program, I installed Olark. Olark allowed me to create a gmail account, and connect it on up, and worked seamlessly. Also lets you know which pages that people are on so that you can browse and see exactly what they are seeing.

I think there are 2 options, use a chat that integrates to your users name in any cms (drupal, wordpress...etc), use a more powerful method, social login, which means facebook or twitter.

If you are in the social login group, you can embed Rumbletalk for all CMS, and talk from your mobile device or tablet.

Also, do any of these allow for moderation during certain times? Like maybe if a special guest is present to allow one question at a time...

You may moderate in RumbleTalk by banning users based on name or permanent ban by IP.
The option to allow only moderator to speak is not available as far as i know in none of the big chats.

Well I suggest you to use Social plugins to your web page.

Chat systems are very inexpensive to develop, if you wish to learn programming or hire a programmer it would be inexpensive.. if you can't find an already existing service to use...
