Dead Amazon Links in WordPress

Hi all,
I am totally new to trying to make money online. I bought a course that explained affiliate marketing and I followed the step by step instructions and built my site last weekend.
I am having trouble with some of the links for that direct people to the sale.
I'm using Wordpress and just to be certain I have the correct details in these links I have gone back to Amazon and copied and pasted them into the image details/url window again, yet there's still no change. Just to make sure there have been no mistakes that could occur with me right clicking and copying/pasting I have been using keyboard short cuts to remove any chance of error.
This isn't happening with all links but some that are days old still work fine.
On those that don't work, I have gone back and found the product, seen that it still exists and copied the links again with no improvement.
The trouble is only when I click on the "CheckItOut" link to direct people to Amazon to buy. Some links work perfectly, some give me the error message "
Not Acceptable! An appropriate representation of the
requested resource could not be found on this server. This error was
generated by Mod_Security."

Others take me to a HostGator page with "Error 403 Forbidden"

With all of the links that behave this way I have double checked the products still exist in Amazon and I have tried using the text only versions of the links as well.

I can't understand this and I have searched everywhere for a solution. It's very strange how most links work perfectly.
I'm at my wits end with this.

Cheers,
Dave

Dave, I'm going to take a quick guess, and say that you are likely adding links using the visual (WYSIWYG) post editor.

I've found that it's much easier to use Amazon's link generator and copy/paste the HTML code directly into the text version (the one that shows the page code). When you toggle back to visual mode, you should see proper links.

    Thanks for the reply John
I tried that too. Copying and pasting the code from the Amazon site directly into the body of the page but in visual mode all I saw was the code and no links. Now I have just checked the site again and none of the Amazon links are working.
This is so frustrating. Now, on the weekend is when I should be adding more products and promoting the site but there's no point until I fix this issue.

Firstly, thanks for all your help guys. I hope to be able to have enough knowledge to be helping others too one day.

      Good news!
I found a solution so I'll put it here in case anyone else has the same trouble I did.

I was copying the links as supplied by Amazon link builder and using them in images within Wordpress. In other words embedding the URL into the product images and into a "CheckItOut" button I am using and it wasn't working on all posts.

I ended up finding the solution on YouTube.

Now I choose the text only version of the Amazon link but only select the section between the quotes. For example:
      "http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/BIGCONDOMS/ref=as_li_tf_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&cr eativeASIN=B003JJW5HA&linkCode=am2&tag=#######-20"

Select everything there apart form the quote marks and it works perfectly.

      Cheers,
      Dave
