About Blogger to Wordpress migration

Hello warriors,

I have a blogger blog which i finally managed to rank on google page 1. Now i want to switch from blogspot to my own domain and hosting. I have no knowledge about domain and hosting and have never bought a domain before. How can i migrate to my own domain and hosting with wordpress. I have looked at a lot of tutorials but they are too complicated whereas i don't think that i need to follow all those too many steps because there is only one article on my blog on the homepage and therefore i only need to send the visitors from blogspot homepage to my new domain's homepage. There is no other pages on my blogspot blog so i think it should be easy to do. I don't want to lose my ranking. How can i do it?

If you could provide the simple steps then i will be really thankful to you

Congratz with your #1 ranking with a blogspot blog! How long did it took you to achieve it especially when you mention that there is only 1 article on your homepage.

Concerning not losing your #1 ranking and still having your own domain, you could redirect the nameservers from your registered domain towards your blogspot blog. This way you do not have to build the site all over in wordpress. You can keep your blogger software to manage your site.

If that's an option for you, and you may have further questions concerning this, do not hesitate to contact me.

Changing the domain (even with proper redirects setup) will definitely make you take a hit (even if just temporary) in your SEO rankings and lead flow.

The new domain may never rank as high as the old since blogspot.com has a pagerank of 9!

So my advice from SEO standpoint is DONT DO IT!!

The technical benefits are not worth giving up the SEO benefits IMHO.

In blogger platform there is one advantage where you will not have the headache of buying or maintaining hosting. Still I prefer WordPress because of its vast features, any kind of customization possible and most importantly SEO wise this is the best and EASY. I suggest you to use CMS2CMS. It will migrate your website from Blogger to WordPress in a few easy steps with no coding and extra installation at all. This migration utility will convert your site straight to your new CMS platform swiftly and accurately.
