I'm new to this and wanted to know how link exchange worked. I have a new site that deals with weight loss and I cant seem to get indexed.

An easy way to get indexed quickly is to have your link on a PR6 or PR7 site, I think it's PR6. Anyways, link exchanges work exactly as they sound. You put a link on your site to someone elses site, and they will link from their site to yours. Pretty self-explanatory, but if you have a site related to designing, let me know.
