I have outsourced my SEO needs and February marks month 6 and I still am not generating sales or much traffic. The company I entrusted with this business has solid credentials but I want to ensure he is doing a good job.     Your niche is very competitive. I hope when you ordered you discussed with the guy what to be achieved in 3/6 month etc. Also you can ask them what are the task they done to accomplish the goal. It call about regular touch with your service provider and get update on work

    Also concentrate on long tail keyword, your niche very very competitive

    See that you are being provided with weekly reports, this is the only way to track progress. Obviously, weekly report should cover aspects like keywords ranks, traffic, pageveiws, bounce rate etc. This can help you to track their work.
