Hello, can anyone explain me what is the purpose of link rel='shortlink' in WordPress?

So what is the purpose of using rel='shortlink' and guiding search engine robot to page like "/?p=6027" even there is no such a page?

    That's the "real" address of a WordPress page, the one that's available if you remove friendly URLs.

    Here's the specification for rel=shortlink. I'm not sure if it's really that useful, but should not harm you at least. It's for those clients who can benefit from a shorter URL.
