Why has my site dropped so much?

Hello,

My landing page for my search terms has dropped down several pages.
I am aware that there have been various Google algorithm changes and I think that in general 'landing pages' and especially pages that have a check out/ pay button link on it are being penalized (am I wrong about that?).
But are there any other reasons for the severe drop and things I could do to reverse the poor ranking?
Thank you for any help or tips you can offer.

Have you made any changes in you site? If yes than its the reason. No matter how small the change is but there are numerous reasons that they can cause.

If you were ranking well than also any algo updates won't hurt you much unless your site is penalized.

    Share some more information please.

Thanks for your reply! I actually added my website to my post, but now I can't see where it is? Anyway, it is www.britishaccent.co.uk

And, no, I have not made any changes in at least 2 years! I have not touched it, because I was afraid changes or even backlinks etc would hurt my ranking...so no changes, but dropped by 3 pages.

Without being aware of the specific circumstances or scenario you are going through, No one can give you the exact answer you are looking for.

How long were you ranking for this search term?

    Did you change anything recently?

Did you analyze all the backlinks you've got recently?

Are you linking with almost same anchor text everywhere?

Google is working on kind of crawler updates recently, Did you check the cache version of your page if something is wrong there?

Analyze and look out every possible thing, you need to trace the problem.

I wish I could help you more, Also I think you are aware of there is a great buzz around on ranking changes or algorithm update since like 12 or 13 of December. Follow the discussions on them, you may find something soon what really is going with all these website who dropped their ranking as well. Take a look at a blog post on this issue at seroundtable.

    Thank You,

Have you checked Google Webmaster Tools? Maybe you need to disavow some links?

      Hi, thanks.
I disavowed dozens of bad backlinks 2 years ago and have not touched the site since. No backlinks, no changes, nothing. Yet, I still dropped 3 pages.

    Hi Michael:

In addition to above, add some content/blogs on your website and it will be back to normal ranking.

    Good luck.
