I recently posted this but wanted to share an abbreviated version of it with you Warriors.

Become a Regular Contributor to Warrior Forum - The Warrior Forum is a golden resource for anyone related to the digital marketing field. It's an excellent platform to build up a robust SEO clients list and to get local SEO clients too.

My agency has brought in over 12,000 clients and customers from Warrior Forum in the last six years, earning millions of dollars in profits. Watch this special training video to show I pulled it off and will teach you how to get SEO Clients lining up at your front door.

Sign up for a Paid Facebook Group - It's easy, it's simple, and it can do a world of good for your image and actual skills. Plus it's an excellent method to get your first SEO client streams flowing to your agency.
  • Find a significant influencer in your industry with a massive following who offers paid training. Make sure the training package includes bonus access a well populated private Facebook group.
  • At that point, it might be tempting to jump right into the self-promotion: "Hey everybody, check out my site!" Resist that temptation. Don't treat this as an overnight shortcut; it's an investment and one that will pay off big time if you exercise a little patience.
  • Apply yourself to the course. Give it your all and maintain a cheerful outlook while you do to form valuable connections and a good reputation.
  • Post any questions and observations you have in the group to get the other students engaged with you and strengthen personal relationships. Plus, their feedback will help you get the most out of your education. Even if you think you understand everything already, opening yourself up to a variety of viewpoints is a great way to see things from a fresh perspective. Strength in numbers!
  • Throughout the course, share concrete examples of how you're putting what you've learned to good use in your SEO efforts. Let your peers know that you run an SEO agency, as well as demonstrating your enthusiasm for the craft.
Remember, by doing all this; you're showing the community that you're not just a lazy self-promoter out for a quick buck; you're a hardworking entrepreneur determined to hone your skills and bring real value to the industry.[/LIST]
This exact tactic has gotten me my best SEO clients through courses provided by experts like Jeff Walker, Brian Dean, Mike Filsaime, Michael Smart, Yanik Silver, and Andy Jenkins.

While the training may cost a chunk, it won't take long at all to make your money back and then some.

Plus, this isn't all just some act-you are getting practical lessons and tips that will make you a better professional.

Author Guest Posts on Business Authority Sites - Guest posts on Influencer sites are a surefire way to inject yourself into the bloodstream of your industry and draw the right traffic to your site.
  • Find an authority site related to your area of expertise. Check it out at spyfu.com to make sure it gets plenty of traffic; if it doesn't, move on and find another site that does.
  • Once you see a website that has a consistently high volume of readers, many of whom are likely to overlap with your target audience, reach out to the appropriate person and ask for a guest post. Don't be scared off if they charge a fee; it's a worthwhile investment in your business's future.
  • Once you've agreed to a deal, it's time to start writing. Don't self-promote or even link to your site in the guest post itself. Instead, use that space to build your credibility and demonstrate value to readers.
  • With that said, the place you do want to connect with your site is the Author Bio. Link to a giveaway offer on a squeeze page. Bonus tip: don't use your keywords as anchor text.
  • Be even pickier with the content than you would be if it were for your site. Take the time to make sure it's as close to flawless as humanly possible.
  • Once you're 100% sure everything is perfect, submit the post and let it do the rest of the work for you.
  • Then, rinse and repeat.

By casting a wide net with guest posts over a variety of relevant sites, you'll pull prospects from around the globe. Plenty of them are going to need SEO work done, and now they have a reason to trust you as an authority.

Watch this video to learn what the biggest mistakes are that marketers make when posting guest posts and how to correct them.

Write a Short E-Book and Sell It on Amazon - Don't discard e-books as a backup plan for wannabe authors who can't publish traditionally. E-books are a cheap and convenient way to give prospects a glimpse of your knowledge and a tease of what you could do for them.

When I wrote my book "Link Building Debunked," it jumped straight to #2 on Amazon for "link building." Today, it's still ranked at #2-even though I've never done anything to promote it.
  • The topic will have to be something narrower than just SEO as a whole. The broader your subject, the harder it'll be to rank on Amazon since you'll be competing with more prominent names. Find your niche and zero in on that.
  • It's usually a good idea to put a number in the title, e.g., "9 Ways to Hit A Home Run Through Your Link Building Efforts."
  • Share a secret resource inside the book that only its readers will find, something they can't get anywhere else.
  • And of course, make sure to include a hard call to action and a link to your squeeze page.

Your e-book doesn't have to be an endless tome. In fact, it really shouldn't be. It can be as short as 5,000 words-essentially a long article, but one that people are more likely to read once they've committed to buying and downloading it.

Record an Audio Version of Your E-Book for Audible - Once your e-book is out there, the next step is to create an audio version for sale on Audible. It isn't complicated or expensive, and you'll be glad you did. It's how to get SEO clients when you need them fast.

The audiobook format is excellent because prospects who listen to it rather than reading are the ones most likely to consume it from to start to finish since they usually use it on long drives.

Plus, listening to someone's voice is a very personal experience. It creates a bond. The listener will feel like they already know you before even meeting or talking with you.

I used the free recording software Audacity to record my book, and I never felt like I was settling for second best.

I hope this gives you some encouragement Warriors!

Great list. I would also add "cold calling" and "cold emailing". Many people are afraid to get into this aspect of sales, mostly because they're too nervous to deal with potentially irate customers. But it has worked for me in the long run.

I have looked at forums and websites such as "pro-blogger" and approached people directly offering my SEO services. I have also phone marketing agencies and SEO businesses and pitched my business and offered them a deal.

This cold calling tactic has taken me out of many holes when i was trapped.

    Good luck everybody!

Isn't cold emailing spam? I made hundreds of thousands of dollars spamming in the 90's. I quit for a reason. It quit working.

Approaching people cold on forums and websites seems a bit spammy too. I like to create systems that draw people to me rather than the other way around. Glad it's working for you though mate.

It depends how you do it. I don't email random people - but messaging people on Facebook groups and forums with something they clearly want (and often ask for) - i dunno, i made $2,000 last week doing this, maybe i should stop lol

Cold emails are spam are they not? I brought in three times that amount last week in new client campaigns. Maybe I should start spamming. "lol"

Its Matt Laclear!! Didn't we have some fun times back in the day? I remember it fondly (I never take online debates too seriously for long).

Anyway no...since outreach to webmasters for links is a thing its less spammy if done right. We actually track sites for the best time to contact them (just when they should be looking for a SEO or to change one).

My business is much smaller than your as is my audience. You can call it spam. Ok spam, but targeted and controlled "spam"

Made another $300 with it today, just sent some emails out and made some money, thanks

Earlier today I was dead set against your strategy. Since then I have spoken to several agency owners who are killing it with cold emails. They are selective with their targeting so no mass spam tactics. I stand corrected, and you were the first to drive home the point. Thanks.

Especially after Penguin wrecked havoc on a few WSO link sellers.

If even half. Penguin drove a lot of site owners from the market. Affiliate marketers in particular. The only thing saved me were the brick and mortar businesses that were in my customer base.

There are other opportunities to sell a one-off service for $99 here on the forum. It will not be links though.

You know what, I'm bored with agency work... bet you I do it again. If one can do it so can another. With the right strategy, several of us can bring in 12,000 plus customers.

In my opinion not the way to go. You are much better off with 50-100 paying you $1000+ per month. You get a SUBSTANTIALLY BETTER kind of customer to. The problem with the sub $200 market is they are predominantly sites not making any money.

I agree that's the type of client and the pricing we want to end up at. Having a plethora of sub $200s could fill that funnel if the upsell and relationship building process was set up precisely. Like I mentioned somewhere else, after Penguin what saved me were the several hundred customers who wanted to pay the $1k month rates. The forum is slow now. A WSO takes two weeks to get off page one now. We used to have to bump every day.

I agree. Warrior Forum is a great place for all digital marketers. I feel like home when I'm logged in.

I ask my queries and get good replies. I also try to help people on the forum by helping them with their queries.

I agree authoring an e-book pr an audio-book and selling it on Amazon is a great way to have a source of passive income.

Also, doing good posts on Warrior forum can also help you get some clients.

Off-page SEO refers to techniques that can be used to improve the position of a website in the search engine results page (SERPs). Many people associate off-page SEO with link building but it is not only that. In general, off Page SEO has to do with promotion methods - beyond website design -for the purpose of ranking a website higher in the search results.
In other words, since links are the currency of the web, it's clear incoming links to your website are essential for long-term success. If you think of your website as a resource, where can you create an altruistic hub? Is it a library full of videos, case studies, eBooks free for download? Create meaningful content, don't gate it (meaning don't ask for their email), and promote it through all your social channels. Eventually, the links will come.
For local businesses, essential off-page SEO would include reviews, consumer generated content, local citations, e.g. mentions.

One of the best ways to get your first SEO clients and start building your portfolio is to start with your current personal contacts - are there small business owners among your friends, family or networks? Meet them for lunch or coffee and talk about their (small) business, then tell them you want to help their business with your SEO skills.

I'm not allowed to tell you how much money that equates to because I collected it With E-Junkie and not Warrior Payments. What earned the money though were the positive reviews.

Hi Matt, thanks for posting this list. I never thought about writing an e-book mostly because I never thought of myself as an author but that's something I can work towards to expand my skills. Doing an audio version of the e-book is also a great idea.
Great advice on guest posting and FB groups. Too many times we want to jump straight into promoting what we have instead of building relations first. This can be so much more rewarding and valuable to our lives and business in the long run.
