Hi,

We are trying with a section on our website homepage where the recent 10 blog-posts will be displayed. But I wonder if this hurts by taking away the pagerank to blogs which is much needed for the website internal pages. Please suggest.

Thanks

No, it will not take away page rank for those blog posts.

No the blog posts can't decrease the rank, but the quality of the link juice is diluted as many low quality blog links add up on the home page.

While that may, in theory, be true, it sure doesn't seem to hurt sites like wikipedia that link to dozens of other pages from every article and it sure doesn't seem to be something that popular SEO blogs worry about (they link to at least 10 blog articles from their home pages).

I really don't think that linking to 10 blog articles from the home page is a game changer as far as link distribution goes (assuming you believe in the notion of link/page rank sculpting).

You need not worry here brother. There's no point for it. Putting up those links to those 10 blogs won't hurt your page-rank at all. In fact, it'll improve your interlinking for that page. plus, your blog links will get indexed faster and more traffic will be coming your way to the blogs.

No. I strongly suggest you add those blog posts. The thing is, authority will be spread among inner pages (blog posts) and will not be taken away from the homepage or the site overall.
