Dissapeared From Google - What Happened??

Found my listing disappear from Google's top pages where they were for more than 1 year.... I did no spamming, nor did I do something drastic to the site (eg: did not change title tag etc)

Any idea what's up?

There have been times that I oscillated up and down on the first pages... but now I could not even find myself on the first hundred results. There's no reason for me to be banned, but just the same I checked and I still exist with pr2...

Anybody had similar experience... I don't know what to think.

PS: The url has almost 10yr. history etc....

PPS: If this is not the appropriate place to ask this then let me know.... thanks

In my extremely limited experience I would say your site is under review by google. Get on the phone in my opinion, phone up and ask them what is happening and why. But, you should probally wait for someone who knows more then me to give you advice.

Is it possible you have been looking at the rankings while logged into your Google account? This can show your site at the top then when you logout it's not there, throws a lot of people.

Did you do any backlinking lately as that's what happened to mine. My niche site was on no. 1 in Google and I was doing lots of backlinking for a sub-page and that triggered the Google dance. The strangest thing is like you, I could not find the SERP anywhere although it's still indexed and not sandboxed. It came back only after 3 long weeks.

If you are nothing on any backlink campaign lately, check this first:

    1. Login your Google webmaster tool, check what happens to your site!
    2. Rectify and fix any errors or problems in the webmaster tools.
    3. Check if your site has a lot of duplicated posts, remove them...

Remember this, don't do any on page optimization when this starts to happen, if you purposely optimize your page for that keyword, you will get into longer filter period.

If everything check out and fixed, you can continue to build more links or just sit back and see if your site came back in 3 to 7 days.

Thanks HCLee... Thanks kkchoon .... The ONLY thing I did were some bookmarking submissions... 12 of them (good content) over a period of 15 days, hardly spamming even by the most stringent definitions.

No duplicate posts or other G webmaster problems...

Glad to hear I'm not the only one that went through this. It just happened today and I was thinking about the Google reconsideration request... But I was thinking that might actually get me in more hot water than do me any good.

Just don't freak out, continue to build backlinks to your site, just post the content / articles slowly, the backlinks part you can do it rather more, even thousands of it / day, but it is recommended to do it consistently, don't want some sudden spike of links occurs!
