I've been thinking about an issue recently and would like to hear everyone's opinions and experiences on it. This question involves the necessity of external links for C-side websites in terms of search engine optimization (SEO) and search engine marketing (SEM).

It's no secret that external links play a vital role in determining a website's authority and relevance in the eyes of search engines. They represent an endorsement of content by other sites, indicating its quality and value. However, in C-side websites for individual consumers, there seems to be some controversy about the importance of external links. Can anyone help me answer this question now?

Any website of any kind whatsoever will do better in search engines with relevant, real backlinks. It doesn't matter if it is BTB, BTC, CTC, a general blog, an education site ... whatever.

I'm not sure where you are getting your information that they are not important for BTC websites. It's simply untrue. Are backlinks as strong as they use to be in website rankings? That's an entirely different matter. Google seems to be relying on user signals much more heavily than in the past, which means backlinks may not be quite as powerful as they were in the past, but they still matter.

Bottom Line: All things being equal - site age, content, on-page optimization, site speed, user signals, etc., the site with better backlinks will outrank another site that is otherwise the same.

Just check the website in tools like Ahrefs or Semrush are they worth to place the backlinks on or not. From my oqn experience most valuable backlinks I can get are those from real sites/ portals (not made for backlinks selling purpose only ...) which gathering high organic traffic from Google. Because I am getting not only quality backlink from it but also some referal traffic as well. you can for example put on the quest post article also a banner for example with redirecting to your business website (not only text link) and atrcact also some visitors of those website to click on that banner. I am using this strategy since long time and see the conversions from that. So focus on the traffic parameters I mean organic traffic from google of the website you want to put the article with your backlink on rather than on type of the website.

There is absolutely no doubt that external links are important for SEO and SEM, as they signal a website's authority and relevance. I do agree that there are some arguments about their necessity for C-side websites, but they can still be important for improving search engine rankings and driving traffic. I would strongly suggest that the emphasis should also be on creating high-quality content and providing value to users, as this is what really determines a website's success in search engine results.
