Will Automatic Translation affect my SEO negatively?

Hello Everyone,

I recently found out that some review blogs are using a plugin called GTranslate.

I noticed that some of their translated pages were ranking in other languages.

Apparently, this plugin automatically translates a sites content to all other languages.

At first look, it looks very tempting and easy to implement, but I'm wondering, will this have any negative SEO impact on my site?

Thank you for your valuable input

Automatic translation can have both positive and negative impacts on SEO, depending on how it is implemented and the quality of the translations. Everything depends on how Google decides to evaluate machine-generated content because, yes, it is already easily recognizable by the algorithm. If Google chooses to penalize content not produced by users, you may face consequences in the future; otherwise, you could only benefit from it. Therefore, conduct a cost-benefit analysis.

  • It should benefit. I translated a clients site in Wix automatically 1 month ago and i'm already seeing Spanish keywords rank on GSC.

    • Small update my end. Using the free Wix Translator has impacted my SEO Site Score. This is something to do with the hreflang not linking back to the original page. I am having to talk to Wix to have this fixed.

According to Google SEO Translation ranking is the more complex part of SEO.

My score dropped from 96 to 66 over night. So be carfful.

It have positive impact on SEO but with that their could be a downside of it as well by inaccuracy of content translation which may lead to negative user experience.

Suggestion would be to review and edit translations for accuracy.

What do you mean "if I'm depending on Gtranslate"?

Is there something that I'm missing? Do you mean like I should edit the translations?

What do YOU think? You are responding to a post that was deleted - as were about a half dozen others that were spamming here.

As you can clearly see from the answers - the opinions are 'maybe yes and maybe no'.... You say 'blog' - below is the answer if you are using Wordpress. No one can guarantee what will happen but that's the closest you'll get.

As a result, content can be inaccurate or poorly written, negatively impacting your search rankings and harming your overall SEO strategy.

Both aspects of using Gtranslate, it good when you use it properly and increase the visitor reach according to the language. Another thing is that if you use the free version it does not fulfill and working mechanism for reporting errors or proofreading translations I suggest you that not use Gtranslate as a free version. You used a paid version which works properly and does not affect SEO.
