What's the best way to target local service by zip codes?

Hey guys, for any local services especially in another State where you won;t have a GMB account, what would be the best way to target all or preferred zips in that State please?

One marketer says best way is through Adwords but just checking to see if it can be done with Organic SEO?

    I would say by some of the ad platforms, i think goggle do that in one of the sections, i know facebook ads can target by local i hope this helps

    there is a few things you could do list your business on business pages such as google and local online directories and even try direct mail campaigns best of luck in your ventures

    Thank you very much guys, for Organic SEO, can you or anyone give me an example or link me to a great tutorial showing how I can build a site's pages for targeting different zip codes please? I am having problems understanding or knowing how it's done.

    Let use 'computer repair' as an example, if I wanted to target 8 specific zip codes in Queens, NY, how would I do so, would I need to create 8 different pages for each zip and if yes, I can't imagine what the 8 pages content would be, meaning how different can the content be among the 8 pages?

        Yelp plumber + city


        for a bunch of cities.


        See what pops up.


        Or Domino's Pizza.


        Or
        house for sale + city + redfin.com


        Try redfin on a bunch of cities, same for Domino's Pizza.


        Or be on your phone in different cities and google the name of a service and look at the top results (one of them is going to be yelp and you can see what they do that way too).

        Look them up. (They're at the top for big cities and competitive phrases, but they have so many of these and some are #1 they make money.)

      Thanks but not understanding how one can have GMB's in different States unless one has a physical location in the different States?

    For organic targeting, you need to figure out the DISTRICTS that exist in the MSA you're trying to get customers from

    You really can't just focus on zip code. District-focused content looks more natural. Same goes with your backlink anchors.

    Nobody searches by zip codes, so you can't. You could target towns, townships, cities, counties, etc., but creating content focused on targeting a zip code would be a huge waste of time since nobody searches with zip codes these days.

      Thanks but for clarity, it wasn;t my intent to write the content or use keywords like 'computer repair 11420', I will list the town or city so like 'computer repair Ozone Park'. I am still trying to figure out though if it's best to target the Towns of each zip or go bigger.

      For example, my address reads like this, xxxSteet, south ozone park, Queens, NY.


      I am in South Ozone Park [town or zip] in Queens [County] in NY [State]. There are 2 zips in South Ozone park but there are 78 zips in Queens County. So if I wanted to target all 78 zips [Towns] in Queens, should my content and keywords be 'computer repair queens'?

        Without running a Google Ads campaign, there is no way to know for sure how people are searching.

        But since you can use basically the exact same content and just swap out location names, just target them all and see what works.

      Hey guys my site is now ready so I am going to try out the guy's instructions. For clarity and using his example:

      Previously, he only had a "services" page, to mention all the services he offered. We changed that, and added a drop down with individual pages for::

      Tree Removal
      Tree Pruning
      Stump Grinding
      Stump Removal
      Arborist
      Tree Inspections
      Tree Expert

      Does he mean that for each of the services mentioned above the idea is to create drop down city pages as sub menus for each service listed? So it will be like

      Tree Removal-
      tree removal Ozone park
      tree removal richmond hill
      tree removal springfield
      tree removal astoria

      Tree Pruning-
      tree pruning Ozone park
      tree pruning richmond hill
      tree pruning springfield
      tree pruning astoria

      and so on for each separate service please?

    I think targeting ZIP codes can be possible in SEO.First of all create a landing page with a broad location names city names covering all the ZIP codes in the page describing it can be the best option

    I honestly like to target cities rather than zip codes when it comes to SEO marketing. However, with Google Ads, you can target by zip codes very easily and it's an effective marketing strategy. With SEO, people using Google search something like "keyword plus city" rather than "zipcode plus keyword" hope that helps.

    Create multiple pages for each location. Make minor changes to the content for each location.
    All pages need not be shown on the main menu. You can easily rank for smaller suburbs.

Adwords really can provide immediate results, but organic SEO can help establish long-term visibility and credibility in those target regions.
