Hey guys, I would like to attempt blogging on my own for some Local Home Services. I have done tons of research on blogging and have paid for quite a few courses on blogging plus posting questions on different forums on FB e.t.c e.t.c.

What I realize is different 'top' or experienced bloggers can have different opinions and strategies which makes it confusing for me to know which strategy will be best for me. So let me ask a few questions here if you guys can help please.

First question please, what is the better strategy for Meta Description - Make it compelling for CTA purposes or try to fit as many kw's naturally?? Seems to me both can't be done so it's one or the other.

Both CAN be done, however, the meta description has very little impact on SEO and, in fact, is hardly ever used by Google as the description in search results. Instead, they pick words off of your page that the algorithm thinks best matches a searcher's query.

BOTTOM LINE: If you are torn between the two, definitely go for the one that will get you more clicks, knowing that it probably won't be used by the search engine anyway (just like the one for SEO won't).

P.S. It seems like you have already spent enough on courses. It's time to stop the paralysis by over-analysis and just write the blog! Try one strategy and then another and, perhaps, a few of your own (which is what they did, I assure you) and see what works best for you and your particular niche. Where is the real risk? Blogs cost next to nothing!

First thing - you develop your own strategies as you go along.
When you work on your projects, you figure out what works and
what doesn't. Just like every other aspect of life.

I agree with what Hermansen said. He knows more about SEO
than most, so whatever he says on that topic is fantastic.

I have my own methods of doing things, I keyword my domain
names and URLs, SEO content, and use proprietary methods
of attracting traffic that I have developed over the years.

No offense to you, but I do not understand how people ever get
anything productive or worthwhile accomplished when they think
that something like blogging requires courses.

    It does NOT!

Read a book like "Blogging for Dummies" and drive on.

That goes for any other topic that you don't know much about.

Read a book. Get a Kindle ebook that you can do a read aloud
it doesn't cost anything extra. You can also read aloud in the
Edge browser as well as Word documents.

If you cannot decide between this or that, do both. Always do as
much as you can until you devise shortcuts and time-savers.

And if you don't start utilizing AI, you are going to get left behind.
Your competitors are going to run circles around you while you
are still composing your first paragraph.

These are questions you can ask ChatGPT, which can help
you develop websites, blogs, strategies, and content.

    Don't get left behind.

The only way to find out what strategy works for you is by blogging. Too much information can be overwhelming and confusing .

Use your Meta description to give people a little introduction about you and what services you provide .

Yes sprinkle in a key word or 2 that's relevant to your audience and also aligns with your message to make it readable understandable and uniform

What ever strategy just ensure that
1 - Your meta description fits into the space it will be displayed on in the SERPs, so the searcher can read all of it. It doesn't matter if you write a killer description but it's too long and gets truncated! Keep your description to 155-160 characters (including spaces) to ensure it's displayed in full.

2 - Mention your product or service's USP in your meta description. Can you highlight what makes your offering different in the ideal number of characters? This can really make you stand out in the SERPs.

For meta descriptions in local home services blogging, prioritize making them compelling for call-to-action (CTA) purposes. This method can entice customers to click on your website. While incorporating key phrases is necessary for SEO, focusing entirely on key-word density may also result in a much less enticing meta description. Aim for a balance; however, make certain your meta description encourages customers to take action.
