Link Wheels...?

Are they dangerous? I was thinking of doing 6 web 2.0 site, optimized articles and have only 2 of them pointing to my site but having all the others pointing to the next one in the wheel.

Does google slap you for this? is it allowed? can anyone give me some tips for doing this please.

    Yea you gotta be very careful because google is catching on to the traditional link wheel and I would only link one back to your main site but dont link one to the other either..you need a unique link wheel...to not be traced...good luck!

    Well, I'll be honest... I'm not the greatest Linkwheel guy, but I have tried them. I haven't tried it before, but I think that if you have original content on each of them then it'd work much better.

    PLR content and stuff (I learned from personal experience... unfortunately) do not rank well (mine weren't even indexed, but my about page and contact page were). So for each wheel at least use an article re-writer to make it a little more Google Friendly.


    And another thing you should do for your linkwheel is to get all your spokes (individual pages) indexed as well.

    So if I make each part of the wheel at least 60-75% unique content I should be fine? The idea I got in my mind is, I got some good keywords and im looking for web 2.0 sites to just promote my site a bit.

      Yeah, you should be totally fine if it's 50-60% unique. Personally I like using blogs to promote my site because I can submit them to ping sites. But that's up to you. My properties are Bravejournal, Viviti, Wordpress.com, Blogger, Weebly, and Livejournal.

      I've found they let you put links and all that, and they're easy to use. If I'm using a niche linkwheel for just basic marketing then I'd use Wordpress or Blogger as my center blog then replace it with Xanga.

    I have done considerable reading on this subject, for the same reason as your question. What I have come to find, based on the majority of evidence that I have seen, is that it is best to use more of a web (as in spider) than a wheel. Don't have any symmetry to it, and make sure that the 2.0 sites do not ALL link together. Do not close the circle. Link all of the 2.0 sites to your money page, and make sure that not EVERY 2.0 site it connected in the circle.

    I hope I was able to make that clear. But if not, then just make sure that as you link the 2.0 sites to each other in secquence, that the last one is not linked back to the first one. It is better that you would link them in a more jumbled fashon.

    Hopefully one of those two ways of explaining it make sense to you. If you want to get some videos I got in a free WSO recently, go to SEOmated | Automated SEO Software | SEO Techniques | SEO Tools and sign up. I tried to find the WSO link but couldn't, so I gave you his web page instead. There was no cost for this and it was pretty good.

    The traditional "closed link wheel" isn't nearly as effective as it once was. We use different link wheel patterns that are more effective (basically you don't close the spokes of your wheel).
