Rookie SEO Questions...

Hey There people...

I really don't want to annoy you with stupid questions today, but it's just weighing on my mind and I don't seem to be able to find the answer anywhere.

(I did try to search this forum, although I feel much more comfortable searching this site directly through Google using the site:warriorforum.com operator)

Does not matter anyway...

So, the question is: I have a domain that's 12 months old. I used it to promote stuff before, but I never did any SEO work on it. I am not very good at SEO, you know...

How many backlinks can I safely generate to that domain? (a ballpark fitgure would be fine, although I know it may not be possible)

Also...

while we're at it...

is it a good idea to put spinned content on my website? (I generate content that's about 70% unique using a content spinner) I want to do it for SEO purposes, but only if it's actualy a good thing to do.

I would link it back to pages that I want to rank in google. Of course the spinned content would be put in a directory called "articles" or something like that.

What do you guys thinks?

Again, I am sorry for asking dumb questions

Thank you for your help.
Morgan

Edit: I just remembered... some time ago I hired someone to do some backlink building for me. The domain has under 100 links at the moment. I also wrote some articles...

You can safely generate as many high, good, PR links as
humanly possible. Limited only by how fast you can point,
      click, type.

Skip the massive blog comment/forum profile spam.

Note I did not say do not become active in a forum.
Being active in a forum like this is terrific.

In fact, I just thought of something. If people insist that building
backlinks fast is bad, then they had better limit the posts they
make here on a daily basis, or ditch the forum sig. I would not
want to see WF penalize people

How many you want BUT you can/should focus on generating content and inside site links before going nuts with outside links.

is it a good idea to put spinned content on my website?
No. Always go for unique content. IF you reach top 10 for a major keyword you have a good chance of a human employee go checking out your site. But this is just my personal opinion. Many people use spined content...

A good question is never a dumb question.

People make good money selling to the rich. But the rich got rich selling to the masses.

Build REAL links and REAL content not spammed junk. A "content spinner" I don't even know quite what that is, though I can guess: an auto-generator for content? Not a good idea, this is the kind of thing that Google is trying to perfect its war against, so sooner or later this stuff will be badly devalued.

Posting a lot on a forum with a sig link is not bad at all, but they should be real posts not spam.
